Scott Patterson<\/strong> isn\u2019t the only cast member who appears to have left Sullivan\u2019s Crossing<\/em> in the season 4 premiere.<\/p>\n

During the Monday, April 20, episode of the show, Sully\u2019s (Patterson) departure is explained with an extended trip to Ireland. The premiere also addressed Sydney\u2019s (Lindura Sappong<\/strong>) and Rafe\u2019s (Dakota Taylor<\/strong>) differing thoughts on marriage. Rafe not only decided to end the relationship but later revealed he asked for a transfer so they wouldn\u2019t remain in the same place.<\/p>\n

Based on the book series by Robyn Carr<\/strong>, Sullivan\u2019s Crossing<\/em> centers around neurosurgeon Maggie (Morgan Kohan<\/strong>) after she moves back home to rural Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father, Sully (Patterson). The brief getaway turns into Maggie making plans for a future in Sullivan\u2019s Crossing with love interest Cal (Chad Michael Murray<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Season 3 of the hit series, which started streaming on Netflix in August 2025, ended on a shocking note when Maggie and Cal\u2019s relationship was affected by her secret husband, Liam (Marcus Rosner<\/strong>), strolling into town.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the season, Sully left on a getaway with his girlfriend and Edna (Andrea Menard<\/strong>) and Frank (Tom Jackson<\/strong>) also contemplated moving on from the campground. Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively broke the news in March that Patterson, 67, exited the series before season 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeason 3 of Sullivan\u2019s Crossing ended with Sully leaving for Ireland, beginning a new chapter in his life. Season 4 picks up the next day, with Sully still overseas,\u201d Roth shared with Us<\/em>. \u201cWhile he isn\u2019t physically present in this season, the character remains an important part of the world with the potential to be included in future seasons should that align with the ongoing creative.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patterson later hinted at what caused his surprising departure, writing via Instagram, \u201cThe creative differences were becoming untenable and I just sadly realized that the show was not something that I could agree to continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patterson clarified it wasn\u2019t his choice to leave Sullivan\u2019s Crossing<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that it is now being implied that they moved on from me\/Sully when the fact is the complete opposite, and those who sadly already have spoken out are also fully aware of this fact, and yet chose to say otherwise,\u201d he continued. \u201cI was not intending to make any statement but the fans of the books and the show deserve to know the truth as I have always been respectful of those who support this industry by watching and loving these characters we are so dang lucky and blessed to portray and bring to life.\u201d<\/p>\n
