\n\tThe 2026 Sports Emmys and News & Documentary Emmys are being held on three consecutive nights next month, and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today revealed the lifetime achievement award honorees for each.<\/p>\n
\n\tLongtime sports media and entertainment executive Steve Bornstein will be feted during the Sports Emmys on May 26, Emmy-winning ABC News journalist Martha Raddatz is the News Emmys honoree on May 27, and Emmy-winning documentarian Sam Pollard will receive the Documentary Emmys prize on May 28. \n\tNATAS also said today that the co-hosts of CNN\u2019s Have I Got News for You <\/em>will serve as emcees on the various nights. Roy Wood Jr will preside over the Sports Emmys, with Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black handling the News and Documentary duties, respectively.<\/p>\n \n\tThe trio of ceremonies celebrate excellence in American sports, news and documentary broadcasting from the past year.<\/p>\n Steve Bornstein is a leading sports media and entertainment executive with 40 years\u2019 experience in developing, launching and cultivating brands which leave a permanent mark on a global scale. In 1980, he joined ESPN \u2013 then in its infancy. He would rise to become ESPN\u2019s youngest President and CEO in 1990, leading to significant network development with the launches of ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPN Classic, ESPN Radio, ESPN.com, the ESPYs and the X Games. Next, Bornstein worked at the National Football League, serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of NFL Network and as the NFL\u2019s EVP Media. He currently is the President of the North American division of Genius Sports.<\/p>\n Martha Raddatz is ABC News\u2019 chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor of This Week.<\/em> She has covered national security, foreign policy and politics for decades \u2014 reporting from the State Department, the White House and conflict zones around the world. She began covering wars during the crisis in Bosnia in the late 1990s, but Iraq and Afghanistan are where she has spent most of her time overseas. Her reporting trips have taken her to Yemen, Iran, Pakistan, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey, Libya, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and numerous countries in Africa and in Asia. Raddatz has moderated two general election debates and is the author of bestseller The Long Road Home: A Story of War and Family<\/em> and the soon-to-be-released The Hero Next Door: Stories of Patriotism and Purpose<\/em>.<\/p>\n Sam Pollard is an accomplished feature film and television editor and documentary producer-director. Between 1990 and 2010, he edited the Spike Lee films Mo\u2019 Better Blues, Jungle Fever, Girl 6, Clockers and Bamboozled<\/em>. Pollard and Lee also co-produced a pair of documentary productions: Four Little Girls<\/em>, an Oscar-nominated feature about the 1963 Birmingham church bombings, and When the Levees Broke<\/em>, a four-part docuseries that won numerous awards including a Peabody and three Emmys. In 2010, Pollard co-produced and supervised the edit on the follow-up to Levees<\/em>, If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don\u2019t Rise.<\/em> He also was an executive producer on Netflix\u2019s Katrina: Come Hell and High Water <\/em>and EP on the Oscar-nominated The Perfect Neighbor.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
