\n\tEXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> Orville Burrell, the Grammy-winning reggae artist better known as Shaggy, has signed on for a role in Honeymoon with Harry<\/em>, Amazon MGM Studios\u2018 dramedy based on the book by Bart Baker.<\/p>\n \n\tNo word on the role to be played by Burrell, who is the second prominent musical artist to join, following British pop star Rita Ora. As previously announced, Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal lead the cast, which also includes Love Story<\/em>\u2018s Sarah Pidgeon. <\/p>\n \n\tDirected by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, Honeymoon with Harry<\/em> follows a rough-around-the-edges man (Gyllenhaal) who ends up sharing an unwanted journey with his fianc\u00e9e\u2019s (Pidgeon) prickly, overprotective father (Costner) after a life-altering turn upends their plans. Against the backdrop of an island honeymoon, the two men clash and bicker before gradually uncovering an unexpected bond.<\/p>\n \n\tDan Fogelman penned the script and is producing alongside Mike Karz via Gulfstream Pictures, as well as Jennifer Salke via her Sullivan Street Productions banner.<\/p>\n \n\tA native of Kingston, Jamaica, Shaggy got his start as an MC in New York City\u2019s burgeoning dancehall scene soon after moving to Brooklyn in his teens. Not long after serving four years in the U.S. Marines (including two tours of duty in the Middle East as part of Operation Desert Storm), he inked his first record deal and quickly scored a global crossover smash with \u201cOh Carolina.\u201d In the following decade, he further established himself as one of today\u2019s most influential reggae\/dancehall artists, propelled by the popularity of albums such as his 1995 breakthrough Boombastic<\/em> and 2000\u2019s multi-platinum Hot Shot.<\/p>\n \n\tThe only diamond-selling dancehall artist in music history, Shaggy has sold more than 40 million album units to date, in addition to landing eight singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and 7 albums on the Billboard 200. He\u2019s also won two Grammys and is among the top three streamed reggae artists of all time on Spotify.<\/p>\n \n\tOn screen, Shaggy\u2019s credits include The Little Mermaid Live!<\/em> and The Masked Singer<\/em>, where he was a Season 7 contestant. Set to release a new album, Lottery<\/em>, on May 15 via a partnership between VP Records and his Ranch Entertainment, he is managed by Martin Kierszenbaum of Cherrytree Music Company.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
