Blake Lively<\/strong>\u2018s lawyers are demanding to exclude the testimony of a journalist whose 2016 interview with the actress went viral before their client heads to trial against It Ends With Us<\/em> costar Justin Baldoni<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s legal team claims entertainment reporter Kjersti Flaa<\/strong>\u2019s \u201csole connection to this litigation\u201d is posting the interview \u201cone day after\u201d It Ends With Us<\/em> hit theatres on August 9, 2024, according to a new motion filed on April 11. People<\/em> was first to report the news.<\/p>\n

Fans called out Lively, 38, for being a \u201cmean girl\u201d after Flaa, 53, released a YouTube video on August 10, 2024, titled: \u201cThe Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job.\u201d In the clip, Lively \u2014 alongside Parker Posey<\/strong> \u2014 fired back with what some perceived to be a snarky remark after Flaa congratulated Lively on her \u201clittle bump.\u201d (Lively was pregnant with daughter Inez at the time.)<\/p>\n

Lively replied with a smile, \u201cCongrats on your little bump.\u201d The tension was tangible when Flaa went on to inquire about the film\u2019s costumes.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone wants to talk about the clothes, but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes,\u201d Lively said. \u201cIt\u2019s not just the women that have the clothes, but I feel like the women get the conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s legal team noted they don\u2019t believe Flaa was part of the alleged smear campaign she accuses Baldoni, 42, of allegedly orchestrating.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor purposes of trial,\u201d Lively \u201cneed only prove\u2026that Defendants amplified and bolstered the video to make it go viral,\u201d according to the court docs.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, they stated Flaa \u201ccan offer no insight into how or why the little bump video went viral,\u201d noting that testimony regarding that topic \u201cwould be pure speculation.\u201d<\/p>\n

They alleged that Baldoni\u2019s team has been dragging up \u201cunflattering conduct\u2026from years past\u201d as a way to unfairly persuade the jury.<\/p>\n

The team representing Wayfarer Studios, which Baldoni cofounded, argued otherwise.<\/p>\n

Wayfarer alleged that Flaa\u2019s interview clearly demonstrates she built up a reputation as a \u201ctone-deaf, mean girl\u201d due to her own conduct.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAs the It Ends With Us drama continues to make headlines, old interviews between Blake Lively and various journalists are trending online. Lively, 36, and costar Justin Baldoni had \u201ccreative differences\u201d behind-the-scenes while making the movie based on Colleen Hoover\u2019s 2016 book of the same name. \u201cThere were two camps on the film \u2014 team [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

They said the reporter\u2019s comments on the stand would be \u201chighly relevant,\u201d adding that her legal team\u2019s attempt to limit the scope of what could be brought to trial from the interview is merely a \u201cHail Mary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wayfarer said it supports their claims that Baldoni\u2019s side \u201cwas not involved in spreading or encouraging the \u2018little bump\u2019 story that contributed to [her] negative reputation.\u201d<\/p>\n

This development comes after 10 of Lively\u2019s 13 claims were dismissed by U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman<\/strong> on April 2, including sexual harassment, defamation and conspiracy.<\/p>\n
