New court filings suggest Scooter Braun<\/span><\/strong> could be connected to an alleged smear campaign in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly<\/i> on Tuesday, April 21, actress-turned-activist Alexa Nikolas<\/strong> submitted an updated complaint two months after she initially claimed to be the \u201csubject of a smear website and social media activity designed to discredit and defame her.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her latest complaint, Nikolas, 34, claims her name is linked \u2014 through the internet\u2019s hidden SEO infrastructure \u2014 to financier Peter Comisar<\/strong>, an alleged nemesis of Braun\u2019s who was previously involved in litigation against the record executive, 44.<\/p>\n

Comisar was previously involved in a $200 million dispute over a private equity fund with Braun and top music manager David Bolno<\/strong> that became public in 2021, per The Hollywood Reporter<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBlake Lively has sent a subpoena to Scooter Braun and his company amid her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, Us Weekly can confirm. While legal documents have not been filed yet, a source confirmed to Us that Lively, 37, sent a subpoena to Braun, 43, and HYBE America and is seeking to identify any [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThis overlap appears to evidence common strategies being used against Ms. Nikolas and Mr. Comisar,\u201d Nikolas\u2019 attorney wrote in court documents.<\/p>\n

In his own lawsuit against the music managers, Comisar alleged that \u201cBolno stated that Braun would trash Comisar\u2019s pristine reputation,\u201d and that Braun \u201calluded to a smear campaign that [he] would unleash [on Comisar],\u201d per The Hollywood Reporter<\/i>. (The suit was dismissed with prejudice in 2023.)<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/i> has reached out to Bruan\u2019s team and a contact for Bolno for comment. Both parties are not listed as defendants in Nikolas\u2019 lawsuit.<\/p>\n

Braun has found significant Hollywood success after managing the careers of Justin Bieber<\/strong>, Ariana Grande<\/strong> and Demi Lovato<\/strong>. Most recently, the businessman and mogul has made news for his romantic relationship with actress<\/span> Sydney Sweeney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nikolas\u2019 suit comes after Blake Lively<\/strong> and Justin Baldoni<\/strong> found themselves in a legal battle over their experiences working on It Ends with Us<\/i>.<\/p>\n

In December 2024, the New York Times<\/i> published an article with the headline: \u201cWe Can Bury Anyone: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nikolas, an alleged target of one of the smear sites, proceeded to file a lawsuit in February. In her suit, the former child star of Nickelodeon\u2019s Zoey 101<\/i> named Baldoni\u2019s lawyer, Bryan Freedman<\/strong>, as a defendant.<\/p>\n
