Marty Supreme<\/em> already boasts an impressive cast \u2014 but director Josh Safdie<\/strong> revealed Robert Pattinson<\/strong> was secretly involved in the sports comedy film, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one knows this, but that voice \u2014 the commentator, the umpire \u2014 is Pattinson,\u201d Safdie, 41, said at London\u2019s BFI Southbank on Tuesday, January 13. \u201cIt\u2019s like a little Easter egg. Nobody knows about that. \u2026 He came and watched some stuff and I was like, I don\u2019t know any British people. So he\u2019s the umpire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Naturally, fans of Pattinson ran to social media to share clips from the scene in question, which features Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/strong>\u2019s Marty Mauser playing a ping-pong match with Bela Kletzki (G\u00e9za R\u00f6hrig<\/strong>) at the British Open semifinals. While Marty dominates the match, he secretly makes a pact with Bela to \u201chave a little fun,\u201d showing off some impressive tricks before scoring the game-winning point. An animated Pattinson can be heard enthusiastically calling the game in the background.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly surprised no one caught this. Now that I know it\u2019s him you can really hear it lol,\u201d one person commented underneath the clip via X.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter setting box office records, Marty Supreme lost the top honor at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards to the Leonardo DiCaprio-led\u00a0One Battle After Another. While star Teyana Taylor yelled, \u201cLet\u2019s go,\u201d on stage following the movie\u2019s win, director Paul Thomas Anderson made an impassioned \u2014 yet monotone \u2014 speech about the accolade. \u201cThank you very [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cNow that I know it\u2019s him\u2026 it\u2019s him lol,\u201d a second person wrote, while a third said, \u201cDude I thought I was going crazy because I could\u2019ve sworn I\u2019d heard that voice before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pattison, 39, and Safdie previously collaborated on the 2017 crime thriller Good Time<\/em>. The Twilight<\/em> actor is set to team up with Chalamet, 30, once more in Dune: Part Three<\/em>, due out in theaters later this year.<\/p>\n

After months of speculation, Pattinson confirmed his Dune<\/em> casting in November 2025, while opening up about his busy schedule in a joint interview with his Die My Love<\/em> costar Jennifer Lawrence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s actually really nice. When I was doing Dune<\/em> it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn\u2019t question anything,\u201d he told IndieWire of the filming conditions at the time. \u201cAnd it was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn\u2019t operating, I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to [director Denis Villeneuve<\/strong>]: \u2018Whatever you want!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
