Destructive cop protagonist with a suicidal streak? Check. Alluring femme fatale with a shady past who romances the hero? Check. The killer even has a weird modus operandi involving bondage and the 1959 pop hit \u201cSea of Love\u201d that Hannibal Lecter would appreciate. But it all works because of Pacino and Barkin, who share real chemistry as a damaged couple drawn together by their mutual traumas. On her red-eye flight to see her dad, Joe (<strong>Brian Cox<\/strong>), in Miami, she gradually suspects her handsome fellow passenger, Jackson Rippner (<strong>Cillian Murphy<\/strong>), is interested in her.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa\u2019s right, but for all the wrong reasons, as Jackson reveals he belongs to a domestic terrorist organization that wants to use her to assassinate a political figure. If Lisa doesn\u2019t cooperate, Jackson\u2019s buddies will kill her dad. To make matters worse, the plane ran out of free peanuts.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by horror maestro <strong>Wes Craven<\/strong>, the movie makes the most of its intriguing, Hitchcockian premise. But it quickly becomes apparent that Teddy isn\u2019t so pure of heart, and Michelle isn\u2019t as helpless as she appears to be.<\/p>\n<p>Nominate for several Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actress, <strong>Yorgos Lanthimos<\/strong>\u2018 <em>Bugonia<\/em> is an odd blend of thriller and sci-fi with some inspired bits of comedy here and there. A remake of the obscure 2003 Korean film <em>Save the Green Planet!<\/em>,<em> Bugonia<\/em> is an entertaining ride that contains one of the most shocking endings of 2025. Stone and Plemons are superb, and the movie casts a strange, unsettling spell over you that\u2019s tough to shake off.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Conclave\u2019 (2024)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CONCLAVE - Official Trailer 2 [HD] - Only In Theaters October 25\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/t915aZmyEBg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>What do you do when the Pope has died? That\u2019s the question facing Cardinal Thomas Lawrence (<em>Harry Potter<\/em> star <strong>Ralph Fiennes<\/strong>), who must help pick a successor along with every important figure in the Catholic Church. Sequestered in the Vatican, Thomas acts as a go-between for different factions of the church: progressives, traditionalists, moderates and conservatives. But who among them has what it takes to lead their religion in the 21st century? Picking the right man could save the Church from becoming irrelevant, but selecting the wrong person could hasten its decline.<\/p>\n<p>What makes <em>Conclave<\/em> such a compelling thriller isn\u2019t whether or not someone lives or dies \u2014 it\u2019s which ideology is strong enough to win over these powerful men who want to stay in power. A multiple Oscar nominee and winner of Best Adapted Screenplay, <em>Conclave<\/em> generates suspense the old-fashioned way \u2014 by letting you eavesdrop on conversations you and some of the characters aren\u2019t supposed to hear. But after they accept the latter couple\u2019s invitation to stay at their farm in the tranquil countryside, they start to suspect Paddy and Ciara aren\u2019t who they say they are. Why is the couple\u2019s son, Ant (<strong>Dan Hough<\/strong>), always silent and seemingly frightened of his parents? And why is Paddy increasingly antagonistic towards Ben?<\/p>\n<p>The answers to both questions are genuinely shocking, and what elevates <em>Speak No Evil<\/em> from most thrillers out there. A remake of a great 2022 Danish film, <em>Speak No Evil<\/em> is almost as effective as the original and adds an intriguing commentary about toxic masculinity. McAvoy is frighteningly convincing as a menacing alpha male who will do anything to prove his superiority over others, no matter if they are friend or foe.
