\n\tEXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: While Dean Georgaris and John Fox are awaiting decision on their NBC pilot Key Witness<\/em>, they have sold another series project to Hulu. <\/p>\n \n\tTitled Close Protection<\/em>, the romantic thriller, co-created by Georgaris and Fox and to be written by Georgaris, is about an American bodyguard protecting a British princess.<\/p>\n \n\tThe premise echos an idea Kevin Costner had been developing for a sequel to his 1992 movie The Bodyguard<\/em>, in which his titular character would\u2019ve been protecting Princess Diana, that was scrapped after her death. <\/p>\n \n\tIt also fits into a romantasy genre of bodyguard stories that had been heating up. Netflix is adapting Katherine Center\u2019s novel The Bodyguard <\/em>into a 2026 holiday rom-com titled Guarding Stars<\/em>, which stars Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Brave<\/em>\u00a0creator\u00a0Georgaris and longtime Davis Entertainment President\u00a0Fox\u00a0executive produce alongside Davis Entertainment founder John Davis. Universal Television, where Davis Entertainment has a deal, is the studio.<\/p>\n \n\tGeorgaris and Fox\u2019s NBC drama pilot Key Witness <\/em>stars Emily Deschanel as a trailblazing psychologist who challenges the field of criminology by shifting the investigative focus to the victim rather than just the perpetrator in order to uncover the crucial clues that more traditional methods leave behind. It is believed to be in serious contention for a series pickup at the network. <\/p>\n
