So when the company announced its first-ever Shrek team-up today for the film’s 25th anniversary, people might have been a bit disgruntled to hear that it comes with just one minifigure. But it uses that sole minifigure selection really well.

Today Lego revealed a brand new buildable statue depicting Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots in Shrek’s swamp, bringing Far Far Away a little closer to home. The 1,403-piece set lets you pose the brick-built Shrek and Donkey and even has some fun play features, like being able to lift up Shrek’s belly to see what’s inside his stomach in a playfully gross little Easter egg. But, for the most part, it looks to be very much in the style of a lot of these buildable character statues Lego has done lately across its myriad lines.

But while some people might balk at not getting more playset-scale sets for Shrek‘s big anniversary year, like we said, the set does come with another character in the form of its sole minifig, Puss in Boots, and that’s where the cleverness comes in. Not only does the Puss minifig look great, right down to his stylish hat and dual-molded legs (rather than printing to give him his boots!), but what works here is that the minifig Puss ends up being just about scaled correctly to accurately size him next to Shrek and Donkey.

It’s not quite spot on—Puss is just about the same height as the length of Shrek’s head, and minifigure Puss comes just under that even with his hat—but it’s a really clever way to evoke the right sizing for each of the characters in the display without having to go much bigger or compromise trying to make a brick-built Puss around this size. Plus, it means that this set, at least in terms of Lego’s collector-focused sets lately, isn’t all that pricey compared to what it could’ve been for something larger scaled.

The Lego Shrek is available to preorder now for $130 and will launch on June 1.

Want more io9 news?
