The story of Camy and Arlo is proof.<\/p>\n<p>Camy is a Thoroughbred mare born in 2017 whose racing career ended before it began. A trailering accident in 2021 left her with an injury and a battle scar on her right leg.<\/p>\n<p>But when one door closed, another opened. In 2023, Camy arrived at Never Dull Farm, a small breeding operation run by <strong>Jessica<\/strong> and <strong>Stefan Houweling<\/strong> near Rimbey, Alberta, in Canada. She joined as a broodmare prospect \u2014 a mare kept specifically for breeding and producing foals rather than for riding or competition.<\/p>\n<p>Camy was in foal to Thatcher, an Irish Draught also known as In Shining Armor, and due in April 2026. Kurtsie, a zebra born in December 2023 at Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta, Georgia, had a rough introduction to herd life. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Unfortunately, the filly was born sleeping.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the devastating loss, Camy was cleared to become a nurse mare. And in less than 48 hours, Never Dull Farm received a message from a complete stranger. The stranger had a local colt that lost his mom to birth complications.<\/p>\n<h2>Grieving Horse Camy and Her Perfect Match<\/h2>\n<p>In a video posted on TikTok, Never Dull Farm wrote that the stranger \u201crushed out, grabbed Camy and she was immediately smitten with baby Arlo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are learning this together, and I am so blessed that she gets this opportunity to heal. The connection between them was immediate, and the bond gave both animals a second chance.<\/p>\n<p>Camy might\u2019ve lost her filly. Arlo might\u2019ve lost his dam.
