Roma confirm Claudio Ranieri\u2019s exit with an official statement: \u2018We have full confidence in the path ahead under Gian Piero Gasperini.\u2019<\/p>\n

Roma\u2019s Senior Advisor Ranieri has officially left the Giallorossi.<\/p>\n

\u201cAS Roma confirms the relationship with Claudio Ranieri has ended,\u201d Roma said in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Club would like to thank Claudio for his significant contributions to Roma.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe lead the team through a very challenging time and we will always be grateful for his efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ranieri had a public dispute with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who had previously complained about the club\u2019s transfer activity and the management of some injured players.<\/p>\n

Before a Serie A match against Pisa two weeks ago, Ranieri not only said that Gasperini had approved all transfers completed by the club, but also that he was the fourth option for the job last summer, after the top three targets had turned down Roma\u2019s offer.<\/p>\n

As the relationship between Ranieri and Gasperini deteriorated, the Roma owners had to choose between the two to move forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we look to the future, our direction is clear. The club is strong, with solid leadership and a defined vision,\u201d the club continued.<\/p>\n

Ranieri was appointed as Roma\u2019s Senior Advisor last summer, after ending a six-month spell as the team\u2019s head coach.<\/p>\n

According to reports in Italy, Roma sporting director Frederic Massara is now likely to step down, paving the way for Francesco Totti\u2019s potential return to the club.<\/p>\n
