\n\tAlthough Law & Order: Organized Crime<\/em> is over, Stabler and Benson are still partners for life behind the scenes.<\/p>\n \n\tFollowing the spin-off\u2019s cancellation after five seasons, Detective Elliot Stabler star Christopher Meloni reunited with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit<\/em> star Mariska Hargitay, who has played Olivia Benson for the show\u2019s 27-season run.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWhat one does on a random Thursday when still in LA and freshly unemployed. Dinner hang with pals @therealmariskahargitay,\u201d Meloni captioned photos from the outing.<\/p>\n \n\tLast week, Deadline exclusively reported that Law & Order: Organized Crime<\/em> was canceled after five seasons at Peacock and NBC, following a soft outreach for a new showrunner earlier this year.<\/p>\n \n\tMeloni later took to Instagram to thank the franchise\u2019s fans for the \u201cgreat ride\u201d on his spin-off, which ran since 2021, following his 12-season run on SVU from 1999 to 2011. \u201cP4L [partners for life],\u201d commented Hargitay.<\/p>\n \n\tWhen asked if Stabler could make a return to Law & Order: SVU<\/em>, Hargitay told Deadline, \u201cI hope so. That is a very heartening thing for both of us, that our relationship was so iconic culturally and that Benson and Stabler still resonates is deeply meaningful to me, and Chris and I, I\u2019m sure you know, are very, very close. He\u2019s a very in-demand actor, so we\u2019ll see if the schedule is lined up.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tMeanwhile, SVU<\/em> continues its record-breaking streak as TV\u2019s longest-running primetime live-action series after it was renewed for Season 28 this month.<\/p>\n \n\tMeloni\u2019s next TV gig comes as the lead of Dan Fogelman\u2019s upcoming NFL drama, The Land<\/em>, on Hulu.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
