\n\tEXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: There is major changing of the guard on Chicago Fire.<\/em> Andrea Newman, who has been on NBC\u2018s firefighter drama for its entire 14-season run to date and showrunner for the past three seasons, is leaving.<\/p>\n \n\tSucceeding her is Chicago Fire<\/em> co-executive producer Victor Teran, who has been named executive producer and showrunner for the upcoming 15th\u00a0season of the series, from Dick Wolf\u2018s Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television.<\/p>\n \n\tNewman joined\u00a0Chicago Fire<\/em>\u00a0after the pilot as co-executive producer. She was promoted to executive producer in Season 6, became co-showrunner alongside series co-creator Derek Haas in 2021, and took the reins as sole showrunner two years later.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWorking at Chicago Fire, <\/em>with the absolute best cast and crew in the business, has been the highlight of my career,\u201d Newman said.\u00a0\u201cLike so many others, I was inspired to get into TV writing because of Dick, so what a thrill it\u2019s been to work with him and the amazing Wolf team of Peter Jankowski, Rebecca McGill and Anastasia Puglisi.\u00a0I\u2019m so grateful to them, Derek Haas and the NBC and Universal execs who have been so supportive of the show all along the way.\u00a0After 14 years, you really do become a family and working with this group will always feel like home.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tNewman is believed to be leaving on her own accord the mothership of OneChicago, which\u00a0remains\u00a0the most watched scripted franchise on television. All three Chicago<\/em> series have been renewed for the 2026-27 season. \n\tTeran has been on Chicago Fire s<\/em>ince Season 10 in his first TV series gig. He began his career in independent film, rising through the ranks as a production executive and eventually VP of Physical Production at\u00a0Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. <\/p>\n \n\tHe went on to produce, write and direct his own indie films, including the Sundance Dramatic Competition selection\u00a0Filly Brown<\/em>, starring Gina Rodriguez and Edward James Olmos, and the SXSW Competition film\u00a0Snap<\/em>. <\/p>\n
