Taylor Sheridan<\/strong> has enjoyed finding roles for country singers on his shows \u2014 but could Luke Combs usweekly\u00a0be next?<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they just want me to play me, then great. I\u2019m in,\u201d Combs, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> at the Time100 Gala on Thursday, April 23.<\/p>\n

Combs noted that he wasn\u2019t as sure about a scripted role.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if I\u2019m a TV guy. I\u2019ve got a face for radio,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve been lucky for that. But I don\u2019t know. I just try to have time for my wife and my kids and not over commit myself to things that maybe I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m great at. Or maybe I would be good at it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDutton Ranch\u2018s Morgan Wade isn\u2019t the only country singer to make the transition to scripted TV roles. Jelly Roll played a scene-stealing character on season 3 of Fire Country, marking his acting debut. Fire Country star \u2014 and executive producer \u2014 Max Thieriot later told Us Weekly that he \u201creached out first\u201d to Jelly Roll [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The musician is already quite booked and busy, telling Us<\/em>, \u201cI just got so much going on with the music stuff. I want to give everything I have to that because I have such a big team and so many people that depend on me to make music and play shows and go out and do things for people. From employees to fans, I want to give everything I can to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recently, more and more country singers have made the transition to scripted TV roles. After playing himself on Tulsa King<\/em>, Jelly Roll played a fictional character on season 3 of Fire Country<\/em>, which marked his acting debut.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Jelly Roll] was finishing drying his hands with a towel in the bathroom at the CMTs [in April 2024]. I ran into him in the bathroom straight up at the CMT Music Awards,\u201d Max Thieriot<\/strong> told Us<\/em> in 2025 about how he \u201creached out first\u201d to Jelly Roll after crossing paths at the CMT Music Awards. \u201cI said, \u2018Thank you for letting us have some of your songs on the show.\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018Dude, how do I get on the show? I\u2019ve been petitioning online and talking to my people and you got to get me on that show.\u2019 He said Fire Country is what he really represents. \u2026 He called me the next day and it showed how sincere he was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thieriot, 37, credited Jelly Roll for being so collaborative.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe worked on coming up with a character [for him] that we all thought would be interesting, unique and special and still. It tells some of the story about second chances and what he really represents,\u201d he noted to Us<\/em>. \u201cBut [it] also feels different from who he is and how people see him day to day as a country singer.\u201d<\/p>\n
