One in particular calls for Harry to divorce his wife and come crawling back and marry and \u201cEnglish Rose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Please do not play a drinking game every time that you encounter a racist dogwhistle. Some people have no opinion on them whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p>But it seems like the two are very well-liked in every part of the English-speaking world except for one little island. It just happens to be the island on which Harry was born.<\/p>\n<p>Amidst the Sussex pair\u2019s trip Down Under, hit pieces have included weird fanfiction about Queen Elizabeth, weird insinuations that Meghan is greedy or a flake (or both?), and whining about the couple\u2019s daughter\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>Another new, deeply weird article wants to \u201csave\u201d Harry from \u2026 happiness? Freedom? Would it surprise you to hear that both of the women in question are white?<\/p>\n<p>Would it surprise you to learn that the author goes on to describe anyone calling out racism as \u201cgrievance-mongering,\u201d even if they themselves are on the receiving end of the racism?<\/p>\n<p>One cannot help but get the impression that the issue with Meghan is that she does not sunburn as easily as the \u201cnew Sloane or English Rose\u201d that the author urges him to marry.<\/p>\n<p>The other issue, of course, is that she seems to care about Harry\u2019s mental health. The author doesn\u2019t seem to love that Harry himself cares about it, either.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DUv7uQugYUl\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>During the article, there is whining that Harry is \u201cstill trotting out tired cliches about his mental health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The author then spirals, spewing out meaningless claims like: \u201cHarry was a victim of peak woke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bizarrely, the article accuses: \u201cHis wife embodies all its worst excesses: the stultifying focus on mental health, a nihilistic desire to tear down institutions, perpetual grievance-mongering around sex and race.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s true that, if someone believes that <em>acknowledging systemic inequality and wanting them to change<\/em> is bad \u2014 the definition of <em>woke <\/em>\u2014 then they probably do not like Meghan.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, she cares about these things. But the tone and diction of the article feel like a big priority would be for Harry\u2019s hypothetical \u201cEnglish Rose\u201d to be lily white. Yikes!<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t even point this out to call out this particular writer.
