President Donald Trump<\/strong>\u2019s press secretary Karoline Leavitt<\/strong> gave her final \u201cgaggle\u201d to reporters before starting her maternity leave as she prepares to welcome her second baby.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will likely be my last gaggle for some time,\u201d Leavitt, 28, said on Friday, April 24, per multiple media outlets including USA TODAY<\/em>, AFP<\/em> and UPI. \u201cAs you can see, I\u2019m about ready to have a baby any minute, so I will see you guys very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt continued, \u201cI know you\u2019ll be in good hands with my team here at the White House. And I know all of you have the president\u2019s phone number personally, so I have no doubt that you will have no shortage of statements and news from this building while I\u2019m gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt, the youngest press secretary in U.S. history, announced in December 2025 that she and husband Nicholas Riccio, who is 32 years her senior, are expecting their second baby together. The pair welcomed son Nicholas \u201cNiko\u201d Robert Riccio in July 2024. Leavitt notoriously started working on Trump\u2019s 2024 reelection campaign within days of giving birth.<\/p>\n

Leavitt has been vocal about her significant age-gap romance in the past, calling her husband her \u201cbest friend\u201d and her \u201crock\u201d while acknowledging that their relationship is atypical.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is my greatest supporter, he\u2019s my best friend and he\u2019s my rock,\u201d Leavitt told former Fox News host Megyn Kelly<\/strong> in March 2025 of the 60-year-old real estate developer. \u201cHe\u2019s built a very successful business himself so now he\u2019s fully supportive of me building my success in my career.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI mean it\u2019s a very atypical love story but he\u2019s incredible. He\u2019s the father of my child and he\u2019s the best dad I could ever ask for.
