\n\tThe director of The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/em> admits that he did want to sprinkle a little Nate into the much-anticipated sequel.<\/p>\n \n\tDavid Frankel told Entertainment Weekly that he considered \u201csneaking\u201d Adrian Grenier in for a surprise cameo. Unfortunately for Nate fans, \u201cit was just too late in our production schedule to make it happen.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFrankel wouldn\u2019t share how he had hoped to incorporate Andy\u2019s old chef-lover into the sequel that reunited Anne Hathaway with Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. But he added that \u201cI\u2019m thrilled that he [Grenier] did a Starbucks commercial, which was really funny and so self-effacing. I love the humility and the comedy of it!\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn March, Grenier told Page Six that \u201cit was a disappointment that I didn\u2019t get the call to be in the sequel, but I also understand there\u2019s some backlash with Nate, the character, so that might have something to do with it. But I think that just leaves room for a spinoff.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHe also said \u201cwe\u2019re all fans of the movie, whether or not we\u2019re in it.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOver the years, fans have on social media have called out Nate\u2019s selfish behavior in his relationship with Andy, seemingly upset with her for pursuing a career in fashion.
