UFC president and CEO Dana White<\/strong> called the shooting at this year\u2019s White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner \u201cf***ing awesome,\u201d after he and others were evacuated from the gala.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt started getting noisy. Tables getting flipped over, guys running in with guns,\u201d White, 56, said while walking out of the hotel. \u201cThey were screaming \u2018Get down!\u2019 but I didn\u2019t get down. It was f***ing awesome. I literally took every minute of it in. It was a pretty crazy unique experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

White \u2014 along with many others, including President Donald Trump<\/strong>, Vice President JD Vance<\/strong>, first lady Melania Trump<\/strong> and other high level government officials \u2014 were evacuated from the Washington Hilton ballroom during the Saturday, April 25, dinner, after shots rang out near the venue\u2019s \u201cmain magnetometer,\u201d per the Secret Service.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were sitting right in front of where the president was,\u201d White continued. \u201cGuys came in looking for shooters. They came towards our table. I thought the shooter was over by us or something. It was a unique experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPresident Donald Trump has said he is \u201chonored\u201d to be a target following the White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner shooting. \u201cWhen you look at our great presidents, [this] doesn\u2019t happen to people who don\u2019t do anything,\u201d Trump, 79, told reporters at the White House on Saturday, April 25. Multiple media outlets reported that a 30-year-old man [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Moments before the shooting, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt<\/strong> told Fox News that there would be \u201cshots fired\u201d during President Trump\u2019s speech at the dinner, seemingly referring to the contents of his prepared remarks.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Trump] is ready to rumble,\u201d Leavitt, 28, said on the red carpet. \u201cI will tell you, this speech tonight will be classic Donald J. Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201c[The speech] will be funny. It will be entertaining. There will be some shots fired tonight in the room.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump did not have the chance to give his speech after the evacuation (despite the president\u2019s wishes), but told reporters at the White House that he was \u201chonored\u201d to be a target of the attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you look at our great presidents, [this] doesn\u2019t happen to people who don\u2019t do anything,\u201d Trump, 79, told reporters later on Saturday.<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI was totally shocked when something like this happens. It happened to me a little bit, and that never changes. The fact, we were sitting right next to each other, first lady [Melania Trump] on my right, and I heard a noise \u2026 I thought it was a tray going down and it was a pretty loud noise and it was from quite far away. [The suspect] hadn\u2019t reached the area at all. He really got him \u2026 but it was a gun.\u201d<\/p>\n
