\n\tTwo-time Oscar-nominated producer Stacey Sher, who\u2019s behind more than two dozen critically acclaimed films such as Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained<\/em>,\u00a0The Hateful Eight<\/em> and Erin Brockovich<\/em>, has signed a first-look deal with MGM Television. Under the pact, Sher\u00a0will develop and produce television series for the studio via her Shiny Penny Productions.<\/p>\n \n\tSher\u2019s body of work has collectively grossed nearly $2.7 billion at the global box office. In addition to the films mentioned above, Sher\u2019s credits also include Out of Sight<\/em>,\u00a0Contagion<\/em>,\u00a0Garden State<\/em>,\u00a0Reality Bites<\/em>,\u00a0Get Shorty<\/em>,\u00a0Man on the Moon<\/em>,\u00a0Gattaca<\/em>, and\u00a0Respect<\/em>. As Deadline exclusively reported, she\u2019s also set to produce via her Shiny Penny FernGully\u00a0<\/em>as a live-action film based on the beloved 1992 animated\u00a0FernGully: The Last Rainforest.<\/em><\/p>\n \n\tKatie Aquino serves as Creative Executive of Film and Television at\u00a0Sher\u2019s Shiny Penny. Most recently, Aquino was an associate producer on\u00a0Heretic<\/em>\u00a0and the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film\u00a0Verity<\/em>, and will executive produce Amazon MGM Studios\u2019 reimagining of\u00a0Baby Boom<\/em>. A graduate of USC\u2019s School of Cinematic Arts, she began her career at Creative Artists Agency in the television talent department before joining Shiny Penny in 2021.<\/p>\n \n\tIn addition to her film and television work,\u00a0Sher\u00a0served as an executive producer on the Academy Award\u2013winning documentary short\u00a0Period.
