\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Universal Pictures is getting ready to take audiences out to the ball game next spring as the stdio has dated the rom com The Catch, <\/em>starring Emma Stone and Chris Pine, for May 21, 2027. Deadline recently reported that Pine was in early talks to join Stone in the upcoming pic directed by \u00a0Dave McCary. Patrick Kang and Michael Levin penned the script.<\/p>\n \n\tPlot details remain unknown other then it being described as a two-hander rom-com. Stone had been weighing several options in the fall, but after a recent draft came in on\u00a0The Catch,\u00a0<\/em>she turned her attention to this project and once Pine was on board, the film the was go for later this year.<\/p>\n \n\tShawn Levy and Dan Levine will produce through 21 Laps. Michael H. Weber will produce. Stone, McCary and Ali Herting will produce through Fruit Tree.\u00a0Universal signed Fruit Tree to a first-look deal\u00a0after landing the film in 2024.<\/p>\n \n\tUniversal\u2019s Senior EVP Production Development Erik Baiers and Creative Executive Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.<\/p>\n \n\tStone is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, WME and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
