\n\tMentalist Oz Pearlman will not appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em> tonight and has been replaced by Pod Save America\u2019s<\/em> Jon Lovett.<\/p>\n \n\tDeadline understands that Pearlman backed out of the appearance.<\/p>\n \n\tThe move comes two days after Pearlman was set as the headliner for the White House Correspondents Dinner, which was canceled after a shooting at the Washington, DC event.<\/p>\n \n\tIt also comes hours after President Donald Trump once again took umbrage at the late-night host, calling for ABC to \u201cimmediately fire\u201d Kimmel.<\/p>\n \n\tLovett is no stranger to JKL!, <\/em>having appeared in February alongside his Pod Save America<\/em> colleagues Tommy Vietor, Dan Pfeiffer and Jon Favreau.<\/p>\n \n\tLovett, who is also no stranger to a political gag, is on the show as is Anthony Anderson. \u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tPearlman was standing alongside President Trump when the incident happened and dropped to the ground before hearing gunshots.<\/p>\n \n\tIt\u2019s not clear why Pearlman pulled out of the show, but he has been doing TV and press since the incident.<\/p>\n \n\tHe went on Fox News\u2019 One Nation with Brian Kilmeade<\/em> on Sunday. \u201cThis is something nefarious and dangerous, and you feel the hairs on your neck starting to lift,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe most surreal moments, potentially of my life, are when\u00a0President Trump goes down\u00a0about a foot away from me, and we are side to side, staring into each other\u2019s eyes from a foot away,\u201d Pearlman added.<\/p>\n \n\tKimmel has had another day of it, starting with the First Lady Melania Trump calling for ABC to \u201ctake a stand\u201d, followed by her husband\u2019s long Truth Social post, raging against a joke that Kimmel made last week, ahead of the WHCD, suggesting that she had the glow of an \u201cexpectant widow\u201d.<\/p>\n \n\tCheck back later for Kimmel\u2019s take.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
