Jonathan Roumie<\/strong> is celebrating a milestone in both his professional career and personal faith journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf only I\u2019d known\u2026\ud83d\ude33\ud83e\udd26\ud83c\udffb\u200d\u2642\ufe0f\ud83e\udd37\ud83c\udffb\u200d\u2642\ufe0fEight years ago, I was invited to play Jesus in an obscure, crowd-funded four-episode \u2018web series\u2019 (basically \ud83d\ude02) which you could ONLY view via its proprietary app \ud83d\ude33\ud83e\udd2a, that chronicled Christ\u2019s ministry over three years,\u201d Roumie, 51, wrote via Instagram<\/span> on Sunday, April 26. \u201cThere was only enough money to fund the first HALF of the first season. But by the grace of God, here we are SEVEN seasons later \ud83d\ude31\ud83d\ude31!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chosen<\/i><\/span> is the first multi-season series about the life of the Christian Jesus. It became the largest crowdfunded media project in history, raising over $10 million for its first season. It has since grown to more than 250 million viewers worldwide.<\/p>\n

Roumie has had the opportunity to play Jesus throughout the project, which has spanned more than 40 episodes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe countdown to Easter Sunday is on, and many in Hollywood are celebrating their faith out loud. Whether through social media and podcasts or TV shows and films, several celebrities aren\u2019t afraid to share a glimpse into their spiritual journey with fans. \u201cWords will never adequately describe the incredible honor it has been to portray our Lord in the @thechosentvseries, not only in those first four episodes \u2014 specifically because of what they meant to me at that moment in my life personally \u2014 but for all the subsequent moments, encounters, stories and spiritual lessons He would allow me to participate in and learn from all these years later,\u201d Roumie shared. \u201cHe is always true to His Word!! Trust Him with your troubles.\u201d<\/p>\n

To mark the milestone, Roumie shared a throwback video where he described himself as \u201cutterly penniless, past-due and out of prospects\u201d before signing onto the faith-based project.<\/p>\n

Season 7 of The Chosen<\/i> is confirmed as the final season of the series, with production beginning this month in Texas.<\/p>\n

The season is expected to focus on the Resurrection and, following a new deal with Amazon MGM Studios, its premiere is set for theaters on March 31, 2028.<\/p>\n
