The disgraced actor will only be eligible for parole after 37 years behind bars.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u2018Dances With Wolves\u2019 Actor Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girls\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HCP80rqj0uQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><em>Dances With Wolves<\/em> is a legendary 1990 film that stars Kevin Costner, who also directed the piece after encouraging the writer to adapt it.<\/p>\n<p>Chasing Horse portrayed a young Sioux named Smiles a Lot in the Oscar-wining piece.<\/p>\n<p>After the fact, he traveled to visit various Native Americans across North America, participating in healing ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors say that he laundered this reputation as a Lakota medicine man in order to prey upon women and girls within these communities.<\/p>\n<p>The jury heard from women who say that they had attended ceremonies or gone to him for help. That was enough, the judge concluded, for a life sentence.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sentencing of Nathan Chasing Horse\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qg9z6BwoaH8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>DDA Bianca Pucci told the court that Chasing Horse \u201cspun a web of abuse\u201d to lure victims to him \u2014 and to keep them silent.<\/p>\n<p>Even upon his conviction and sentencing, the former actor claims that he is innocent.<\/p>\n<p>Chasing Horse told the judge that his sentence is \u201ca miscarriage of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He may look forward to other \u201c<em>injustices<\/em>\u201d in other jurisdictions, in both the US and Canada, in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>Chasing Horse will be eligible for parole as early as the 2060s.
