Many of the best travel cards<\/span> confer valuable benefits. For example, some cards provide hotel elite status<\/span> while others offer travel statement credits<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The American Express Platinum Card\u00ae<\/span> and The Business Platinum Card\u00ae from American Express<\/span> offer perhaps the most comprehensive benefits of any premium travel rewards cards<\/span>.<\/p>\n

A key benefit is access to Amex Centurion Lounges<\/span> for eligible cardholders. What many Platinum Card and Business Platinum cardmembers don’t realize, however, is that Centurion Lounges are just one type of lounge eligible cardmembers can visit within the broader American Express Global Lounge Collection.<\/p>\n

Let’s go through all the types of airport lounges that are part of the American Express Global Lounge Collection.<\/p>\n

Which lounges can I access with the Amex Platinum Card and Business Platinum Card?<\/h2>\n

In addition to Centurion Lounges, both the Amex Platinum<\/span> and the Amex Business Platinum<\/span> provide members with access to Delta Sky Club lounges<\/span> (limited to 10 annual visits unless a spending requirement is met) and Priority Pass Select lounges<\/span>. (Enrollment is required.)<\/p>\n

But that’s just a portion of the lounges cardmembers can access. Other lounges around the world include:<\/p>\n

  • Aspire Lounges<\/li>\n
  • Escape Lounges<\/li>\n
  • Plaza Premium lounges<\/li>\n
  • Select Lufthansa lounges (access will be discontinued as of Oct. 1, 2026<\/span>)<\/li>\n
  • Other Global Lounge Collection partner lounges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Using the Global Lounge Collection website<\/span>, you can find participating airport lounges during your travels. American Express states that you’ll have access to more than 1,550 airport lounges across 140 countries.<\/p>\n

    As a cardmember of either the personal or business Platinum card, including authorized users with additional Platinum cards<\/span> but not authorized users with companion Platinum cards, you’ll get access to most eligible lounge networks by showing your eligible card and government-issued identification, plus a valid boarding pass.<\/p>\n

    However, each lounge network has different access requirements and guest policies, so let’s look at each.<\/p>\n

    American Express Centurion Lounges<\/h2>\n

    Centurion Lounges are the most exclusive lounges available to Platinum Card<\/span> and Business Platinum Card<\/span> members. They offer a staffed bar, meals, ample nonalcoholic drinks, high-speed Wi-Fi and various seating options.<\/p>\n

    Some Centurion Lounges also provide complimentary amenities like family rooms.<\/p>\n

    Centurion Lounge locations in the US<\/h3>\n

    There are currently 16 Centurion Lounges open in the U.S.:<\/p>\n

    Amex also plans to open Centurion Lounges at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)<\/span> in 2026 and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)<\/span> in 2029.<\/p>\n

    The issuer recently debuted a new dining concept called “Sidecar by Centurion Lounge” in Las Vegas in 2026<\/span>, offering a quicker, more intimate dining experience to those with a flight departing within 90 minutes. American Express plans to expand the concept with another location at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in 2027<\/span>.<\/p>\n

    This is similar to Capital One’s Landing concept<\/span>, and will offer free Wi-Fi and restrooms within the facility.<\/p>\n

    Centurion Lounge locations abroad<\/h3>\n

    There are currently 15 Centurion Lounges open abroad, located at 11 airports:<\/p>\n
