All eyes were on Kasie Hines during the most recent NCIS<\/em> episode \u2014 but does her rekindled romance with an old college flame and unlikely partnership with Sam Hanna set her up for the perfect NCIS: New York<\/em> crossover?<\/p>\n

Warning: Spoilers below for season 23, episode 18 of NCIS<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m begging them. I want that so badly,\u201d Diona Reasonover<\/strong>, who plays Kasie on the CBS series, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Monday, April 27, of the potential for her character to join LL Cool J<\/strong>\u2019s Sam during an episode \u2014 or two \u2014 of the upcoming spinoff series, premiering this fall. \u201cSo hopefully.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reasonover, 34, teased that \u201cJoanna\u2019s in New York too. So I think it will work out,\u201d referring to Kasie\u2019s ex-girlfriend, who made her NCIS<\/em> debut during the Tuesday, April 28, episode.<\/p>\n

In the episode, \u201cBad Impressions,\u201d Kasie went on the run with Special Agent Sam (LL Cool J), who was in Washington, D.C. for a layover on his way to Dubai.<\/p>\n

After Kasie was accused of killing a man \u2014 and her fingerprint software \u201cEDNA\u201d was manipulated to make it appear as though her actual DNA was present at the crime scene \u2014 Sam decided to stay in town and help the NCIS team clear Kasie\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

As the team worked to figure out who the DOD mole was, and who stole Kasie\u2019s invention in the first place, Sam drove her to New York to visit the one person who could still have her original notes about EDNA, her ex-girlfriend Joanna (Briana Venskus<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

When the special agent and forensic scientist didn\u2019t receive a warm welcome when they arrived at Joanna\u2019s house. In fact, Joanna called out Kasie for prioritizing her work over their relationship, going on to claim that she didn\u2019t have her notebook.<\/p>\n

As Kasie and Sam went to leave the apartment, they were arrested and thrown in jail. Sam was later released and returned to D.C. to help the others clear Kasie\u2019s name once and for all. When he arrived back at the office, Joanna was there and produced the notebook, admitting she wanted to help since Kasie was so honest about her feelings and fears in their relationship.<\/p>\n

With the notes, Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray<\/strong>) was able to recreate EDNA and discover the identity of the real killer \u2014 a DOD agent who was planning to sell the program to a rival country. Once the bad guy was apprehended, Kasie was released from jail and decided to destroy EDNA once and for all.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCrime shows are all about solving cases and putting away bad guys \u2014 but what about finding romance? NCIS, Castle, Bones, Psych and more series gave fans intense crimes week after week while sprinkling in love stories between its main characters. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit hasn\u2019t given viewers a happily ever after for [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The good news? Kasie had a heart-to-heart with Sam and he reminded her that her work at NCIS and her friendships are her \u201clegacy.\u201d (Sam, for his part, set out for his next adventure, which fans will see in that on NCIS: New York<\/em>.)<\/p>\n

Kasie also received a visit from Joanna, which Reasonover told Us<\/em> is hopefully a sign that their story is far from over.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt better not be [the end]. I\u2019m asking the writers [for more],\u201d the actress said. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018You did this. It\u2019s wonderful.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Reasonover noted that Venskus, 38, is \u201cso funny and so dope\u201d and she\u2019d love to work with her again, especially because they have a shared history.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a little personal thing that we would say to each other right before that couples\u2019 counseling scene, which no one else understood. We had our own little secret language on set,\u201d Reasonover explained. \u201cWe looked at each other, and one of us would say, \u2018I burned dinner,\u2019 which is a line from Angels in America<\/em>, because Briana and I actually, before we got on the show, we did that scene together, like, in an acting class years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
