Let me know your thoughts.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-need-to-know-this-morning\">The need-to-know this morning<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Italian pharma company <strong>Chiesi<\/strong> is buying <strong>KalVista Therapeutics<\/strong> for $1.9 billion, adding an approved treatment for a genetic swelling disorder to its rare-disease portfolio. The deal values KalVista at $27 per share, or a 40% premium to its Tuesday closing stock price. The KalVista medicine, called Ekterly, is a pill used to treat acute swelling attacks in people with hereditary angioedema.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Biogen<\/strong>, AstraZeneca, Regeneron Pharma, Abbvie and GSK reported first-quarter earnings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fda-plans-to-nbsp-review-az-amgen-nbsp-trials-in-real-time\">FDA plans to\u00a0review AZ, Amgen\u00a0trials in real time<\/h2>\n<p>In an effort to get drugs on the market faster, the FDA announced yesterday it will start reviewing trial data in real time, starting with oncology studies\u00a0conducted by AstraZeneca and Amgen.<\/p>\n<div class=\"restricted-content-breaker article\" aria-labelledby=\"restricted-story-heading\" aria-describedby=\"restricted-story-description\" checked=\"false\">\n<div class=\"restricted-content-breaker-bar\">\n<p class=\"restricted-text\">STAT+ Exclusive Story<\/p>\n<p class=\"restricted-login\">Already have an account?
