Teddy Swims<\/strong> joined the fatherhood club just 10 months ago, and he\u2019s opening up about how it\u2019s influencing his musical direction. The \u201cLose Control\u201d singer dished on his journey as a parent during his Stagecoach pop-up at T-Mobile\u2019s exclusive Club Magenta hospitality space.<\/p>\n

Club Magenta welcomed guests at Stagecoach with open arms, providing an upscale escape from the California heat where T-Mobile customers remained plugged-in while still able to enjoy country\u2019s best artists, right from the comfort of the club. Swims joined fans for the Teddy Swims Takeover, an experience where they got to enjoy custom mocktails, an airbrush tattoo station, and an exclusive visit from the star himself.<\/p>\n

During a private Q&A chat at T-Mobile\u2019s Club Magenta, Teddy was asked what the next version of himself will look and sound like, and where he pulls his inspiration from now that he\u2019s a dad of one.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, it\u2019s a tough question. [It\u2019s] coming from life, I guess, like going through a bit of a situation with my baby mother. A little heartbreak you know,\u201d Teddy, 33, responded. \u201cSo, yeah, it\u2019s gonna be rock and roll, man, you know? Yeah, I\u2019m really happy. I\u2019m in a good place. And I got a 10 month old, so, you know, he just turned 10 months old yesterday, and he\u2019s the sweetest kid in the world. So trying to make everything not about being a dad is the hard part because nobody wants to hear just nothing but dad tunes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swims became a father in June 2025 after welcoming a son with his longtime partner, Raiche Wright<\/strong>. The couple first went public in 2024 and announced the birth in a joint Instagram post the following year. Since then, Swims has continued to share glimpses about his journey with fatherhood, and, so far, he\u2019s enjoying the ride.<\/p>\n

Swims\u2019 most recent project, I\u2019ve Tried Everything But Therapy Part 2<\/em> (2025), earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. He first got his start uploading covers to YouTube, with his performances of songs like Shania Twain<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cYou\u2019re Still The One\u201d accumulating millions of views and landing him a record deal with Warner Music in 2020.<\/p>\n

Following his major label debut and first headline tour, Swims quickly made himself a household name, earning his first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2023. Over the years, he\u2019s been candid about feeling the need to prove himself\u2014something he\u2019s still grappling with today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like, to me, I guess. Not to like the world, I guess \u2013 but to me, I want to be the best,\u201d Teddy replied. \u201cAnd again, to my son. I want him to think I am cool, and so just want [him] to be proud of me,\u201d he exclusively told guests exclusively inside Club Magenta.<\/p>\n
