Stahl starred Claudette Colbert, Louise Beavers, Fredi Washington and Rochelle Hudson; Douglas Sirk\u2019s 1959 version starred Lana Turner, Juanita Moore, Sandra Dee and Susan Kohner.<\/p>\n \n\tThe synopsis: \u201cImitation of Life<\/em> follows two single mothers, one Black and one White, as well as their daughters, who build a shared life while each strives for success and love in a society divided by race and class.
