I\u2019ll never forget him and I don\u2019t want anyone else to ever forget him either.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While no cause of death has been given, Coe\u2019s health had been declining for several years.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Longhaired Redneck\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H3OcOPDJeZk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>In 2015, a semi-truck broadsided his Suburban at a Florida intersection after he ran a red light at 1:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Coe suffered broken ribs, bruised kidneys and 48 stitches in his head.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his career, Coe not only sang about the outlaw life he embodied it through brushes with the law and a rebellious streak that might have prevented him from gaining greater fame.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoe may have had some hits, but it is records like this that make one wonder if there was not a conspiracy to marginalize him and make him fail,\u201d wrote music critic Thom Jurek in an album review.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoe is a brilliant songwriter well into the 21st century, and deserves to be lauded along with the likes of [Willie] Nelson and [Waylon] Jennings and Kristofferson and Newbury \u2014 and even Cash.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coe is survived by his wife and five children, including Tyler Mahan Coe, who gained fame with the \u201cCocaine and Rhinestones\u201d podcast, which documents the scandalous history of country music.<\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts go out to the entire family at this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reading Time: 2 minutes We have sad news to report from the world of country music today.
