As April comes to an end\u2014and the month of\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> is ready to be upon us\u2014it\u2019s no surprise that the galaxy far, far away has dominated toy news this month. But The Mandalorian and Grogu<\/em> isn\u2019t the only thing coming, and that means toys for all the summer blockbusters, and then some, are starting to arrive.<\/p>\n

Aside from the galaxy far, far away, we got some very cool reveals for new Marvel Legends from across the multiverse, including the MCU\u2019s future and even some Marvel Rivals<\/em>. Lego revealed some nifty sets, including its annual celebration of May 4 and even a debut for Shrek.\u00a0Tron<\/em> tried to make another comeback, this time in hopefully more successful action figure form. And then, of course, there\u2019s the $600 Grogu of your dreams and\/or nightmares.<\/p>\n

S.H. Figuarts\u00a0Dragon Ball Z<\/em> Fourth Form Frieza<\/h2>\n

Figuarts Dragon Ball<\/em> fans have been waiting eons for an updated figure that takes on Frieza\u2019s most iconic design, and they\u2019re finally getting it. Set to release in October, the new figure comes with completely redone sculpting and articulation so it can recreate Frieza\u2019s most famous poses, multiple head parts to replicate a gamut of emotions, and even a little severed tail nubbin.<\/p>\n

I will not<\/em> make a joke about how this figure is subtitled \u201cThe Universe\u2019s Bottomless Power.\u201d It\u2019s what Frieza would\u2019ve wanted.<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Hasbro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Hasbro\u2019s \u201cGaming Greats\u201d line for\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> has gone from strength to strength since it was first introduced as, primarily, a way to reuse and repaint existing figures to kitbash them into characters from Star Wars<\/em>\u2018 gaming history. Now, it\u2019s frequently the source of some of the best\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> figures of the year, and in 2026 it\u2019s no exception now that we\u2019re getting\u00a0Darth Goddamn Traya<\/em> from the legendary\u00a0Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords<\/em>. To boot, she comes with a Darth Nihilus figure as well, but even he is drastically updated from his prior release back in 2020 with much better articulation and soft goods. Now we just need a Darth Sion to complete the triumvirate\u2026<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Lego<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Shrek<\/em> turns 25 this year, and it\u2019s kind of wild that Lego has not dipped into that particular crossover before now. But good things come to those who wait, and this very cleverly scaled buildable statue of Shrek and Donkey uses its one included minifigure of Puss in Boots to get the sizes of all three characters just right.<\/p>\n

Little People\u00a0Alien<\/em> Collector Set<\/h2>\n

Not to be outdone in the shadow of\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> Day, the Alien<\/em> franchise has been trying to make 4\/26 happen for a good while now, which means we\u2019re always bound to get some incredibly weird merchandising mashups in April. Case in point: Little People John Hurt, bloody hole torn through his chest, as a cutesy Xenomorph chestburster wraps itself around his Little People form. At least he looks miffed about it!<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Hasbro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Tron<\/em>\u2018s had a bit of a rough time lately, between\u00a0Ares<\/em> seemingly putting the franchise on ice for the foreseeable future and even Hasbro\u2019s own stalled attempt at bringing a set of figures based on the original film to life. They\u2019re hoping you\u2019re going to remember that people still have a fondness for Legacy and<\/i> that that Daft Punk soundtrack was pretty sick, however, just in time for a new couple of box sets of figures inspired by the film\u2014one of which even comes with a slick lightcycle, even though it could\u2019ve really<\/em> done with some fun light-up features.<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Disney\/Spirit Halloween<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Another one from\u00a0Alien<\/em> Day, io9 got to give you your first look at Spirit\u2019s latest addition to its trending line of giant Halloween animatronics: a full-scaled Xenomorph that can move around and even show off its second inner jaw. Perhaps the silliest $450 you could spend this year, if you\u2019re starting to prepare for October already.<\/p>\n

NECA\u00a0DuckTales<\/em> Figures<\/h2>\n

NECA\u2019s line of\u00a0Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/em> figures has already done a good job of showing us how the toymaker can handle translating classic animation styles into full-fledged action figures, and it\u2019s paying off a ton with this series of DuckTales<\/em> figures. Scrooge, Gizmoduck, and Launchpad will all come as individual figures, but naturally Hewey, Dewey, and Louie will come as a trio.<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Lego<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Every year Lego plans for a fancy\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> set to release around May 4, and this year is no exception\u2014even if the choice is a little ill-timed. This year\u2019s Ultimate Collector Series release is none other than Din Djarin\u2019s modified Naboo Starfighter from\u00a0The Book of Boba Fett\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Mandalorian<\/em>, just in time for\u2026 well, it to be replaced by the return of the\u00a0Razor Crest<\/em> a few weeks after in\u00a0The Mandalorian and Grogu<\/em>. Ah well, doesn\u2019t stop it from looking like a great set!<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Hasbro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Hasbro is gearing up for a big Marvel summer with the arrival of\u00a0Brand New Day<\/em>, and they\u2019re only just getting started with these two figures, featuring a raged-out Hulk and Peter in his latest Spidey suit. All the accessories are making it seem like Hulk and Spider-Man will go toe-to-toe momentarily in the new film, but you know what they say about trusting movie merchandise for spoilers\u2026<\/p>\n

Mezco One:12\u00a0Batman: The Animated Series<\/em> Scarecrow<\/h2>\n

Mezo\u2019s run on the beloved\u00a0Batman: The Animated Series<\/em> gets a fun new villain in the form of its first, classic Scarecrow design. He\u2019s a killer fit for One:12\u2019s love of cloth goods, snappily recreating Scarecrow\u2019s stylized form, and comes with a ton of accessories\u2014but we\u2019re really here for that scythe with Batman\u2019s cowl dangling off its blade.<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Hasbro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Marvel Rivals<\/em> has only been around for just under a year and a half now, but its designs have already burned themselves into many a Marvel gamer\u2019s heads as some of the definitive riffs on these superheroes. So we\u2019ve been\u00a0dying<\/em> to see more merchandise and action figures that use them, and Hasbro is preparing to kick off doing so in style later this year. The first selection includes two standalone figures in Punisher and Moon Knight and two two-pack releases of Luna Snow and Spider-Man as well as Venom and Jeff. As a support main, all I ask is, \u201cSue Storm when?\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s taken almost a year for Lego to do another\u00a0First Steps<\/em>-inspired set, and there\u2019s something rather funny about it being a Herbie that\u2019s almost as tall as the brick-built Galactus in the last one. But it\u2019s definitely a great-looking build, with some fun extra details and accessories (that brick-built screwdriver is a lot of fun from a design perspective). Taking a leaf out of Lego\u00a0Star Wars<\/em>\u2018 buildable droid series is clearly paying dividends here.<\/p>\n

Kaiyodo Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Batman Beyond (Classic Version)<\/h2>\n

The last Revoltech Batman Beyond figure took the iconic design and reimagined it more akin to a mecha suit rather than staying faithful to the sleek minimalism of the original. So good news: this new one just does exactly that, and it looks fantastic<\/em>. Articulated wings, multiple batarangs, and even an unmasked Terry head for good measure, this is the Revoltech Beyond we always should\u2019ve had.<\/p>\n

\u00a9 Hasbro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jessica Jones finally hit up\u00a0Daredevil: Born Again<\/em> in style a few weeks ago, and right on time, Hasbro revealed a new two-pack inspired by the series that gives us both a brand-new Jessica Jones, years after her Netflix self got one eight years ago<\/em>, and a new version of Matt in his beat-up black suit. Sure, it\u2019s a repaint of the\u00a0Born Again<\/em> Daredevil from last year, but that was one of the best Marvel Legends of 2025, so you can\u2019t complain\u00a0too<\/em> much.<\/p>\n

We ended April with Hasbro dropping one big bombshell on\u00a0Star Wars<\/em> fans\u2019 poor wallets: the company\u2019s most lavish attempt at a Grogu figure yet. The Ultimate Grogu is 1:1 scale with the little green tyke at just under 15 inches and comes packed with animatronics to let him gurgle, gesture, blink, and plenty more across over 250 animations. It\u2019s impressive, most impressive even, but for six hundred dollars<\/em>, he commands a high bounty.<\/p>\n
