NFL free agent Shilo Sanders<\/strong> is facing some heat for a comment he made on Instagram to Cleveland Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cGo make a sandwich Mary,\u201d he wrote under a video shared by the Cleveland Plain Dealer<\/em> on Wednesday, April 29. In the video, Cabot, 64, argued the Browns should make Deshaun Watson<\/strong> their starting quarterback over Shilo\u2019s brother, Shedeur Sanders<\/strong>. (Shilo, 26, and Shedeur, 24, are the sons of legendary NFL star Deion Sanders<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

Cabot addressed the comment the next day in an appearance on 92.3 The Fan.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, let me just say about that, that I really do believe that I\u2019ve been an inspiration for lots of women and young girls to know that you can go out there and do a good job in a man\u2019s world and take on all of that that comes with that,\u201d Cabot said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe battle for the Cleveland Browns backup quarterback job has turned into a soap opera involving the team\u2019s two young draft picks.\u00a0 ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter reported on Monday, August 18, that the Browns will name veteran quarterback Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback for the team\u2019s September 7 regular season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.\u00a0 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cabot has covered the Browns since 1988 and became the Plain Dealer<\/em>\u2019s beat reporter for the team in 1991.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cAnd I know that there are so many women who have joined the football world, especially because of things I\u2019ve been able to do over the years, and I\u2019m happy about that, and I know that will continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been able to set the tone and open some doors in that way and that will continue,\u201d Cabot added.<\/p>\n

Related to Shilo\u2019s comment specifically, Cabot teased, \u201cI can make a mean grilled cheese with ham.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shilo remained unimpressed, taking to Twitch on Thursday, April 30, to double down on his comments.<\/p>\n
