A judge has lifted the no-contact order against Joseph Duggar<\/b>\u2019s wife, Kendra Duggar<\/b><\/span>, clearing the way for her to reunite with the unnamed alleged victims in her child endangerment case \u2014 a move that legal experts say offers a telling glimpse into how her ongoing criminal case may unfold.<\/p>\n According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly<\/i>, Kendra entered a not guilty plea<\/span> on April 23, 2026, in her case against the State of Arkansas. Her lawyer submitted a motion to dissolve the no-contact order \u2014 which had been put in place in March 2026 \u2014 on April 17, 2026. The same day, a judge signed off on the request.<\/p>\n The filing claimed the alleged victims \u201chave expressed a desire to have contact\u201d with her and that Kendra had \u201ccomplied\u201d with the order\u2019s terms.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is further ordered that the Arkansas Department of Human Services is authorized to supervise, communicate and facilitate reunification between the Defendant and the individuals previously covered in the no contact order,\u201d the judge\u2019s ruling read.<\/p>\n Keep scrolling to see what the court order means for Duggar\u2019s case moving forward:<\/p>\n Certified family law specialist Rachael Bennett<\/b>, who is not connected to Kendra\u2019s case, told Us Weekly <\/i>in May 2026<\/span> the judge\u2019s decision likely came down to a careful weighing of safety concerns against the children\u2019s well-being.<\/p>\n \u201cThe gravity of the conduct that led to the no contact order is going to be the primary consideration here,\u201d Bennett said on Legally Us<\/i>. \u201cSince there was no evidence to suggest that the children were ever physically harmed or suffered any kind of neglect in the home, the judge likely determined that it was safe for them to reunify with their mother.\u201d<\/p>\n Bennett explained that judges in these cases must balance keeping children safe against preserving family bonds.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re where the victims are children, the judge also has to weigh what\u2019s in the best interest of the child in making decisions like these, oftentimes, we see judges really grappling with the balance of keeping kids safe where there\u2019s some kind of criminal conduct, but also giving appropriate weight to the fact that most children have a strong connection with their mother,\u201d the legal expert said. \u201cIt\u2019s usually in their best interest to have that relationship maintained, and that they would want to be with their mother long term.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked how supervised reunification might shape the outcome of Kendra\u2019s ongoing criminal case, legal expert Bennett was clear: the underlying charges aren\u2019t going anywhere.<\/p>\n \u201cIt won\u2019t change the underlying facts of the case, which is that she has been charged with endangering the children\u2019s well-being by installing locks on the outside of their bedroom doors,\u201d she told Us <\/i>in May 2026. \u201cNothing\u2019s going to change that fact, and there\u2019s very clear evidence of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Bennett further pointed out that the decision suggests Kendray is unlikely to lose her children for good.<\/p>\n \u201cBy allowing contact with the children, the court has given us a strong indication that the criminal charges are not going to cause her to lose her children indefinitely,\u201d the attorney said. \u201cThere is going to be some path to her basically coming back into their lives and perhaps assuming a normal role just as before.\u201d<\/p>\n Kendra was arrested<\/span> in March 2026, days after husband Joseph was taken into custody on molestation charges. Joseph was accused of sexual abuse from a teen girl who was 9 years old at the time of the alleged incident. He pleaded not guilty and was released after posting a $600,000 bond.<\/p>\n Kendra, along with Joseph, was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree. Kendra was released within hours on a $1,470 bond.<\/p>\n Kendra\u2019s endangerment arrest is not related to the sexual misconduct allegations against her husband. A spokesperson for the Duggar family told Us<\/i>, \u201c[Kendra\u2019s] is a misdemeanor charge totally unrelated to [Joseph\u2019s molestation] case.\u201d<\/p>\n A source, meanwhile, claimed to Us<\/i> that \u201cone precipitated the other.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAfter his charge, they automatically do a home study if minors live there.
