Former Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has offered a characteristically outspoken take on Scott McTominay, questioning the Manchester United man\u2019s all-round quality despite his eye for goal.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Sky Calcio Unplugged, via TuttoMercatoWeb, Nainggolan said: \u201cI don\u2019t like him. He scores a lot of goals, but in general play\u2026 he\u2019ll always get 12, 13, 14 goals, but if he has to build play he doesn\u2019t have the technique to operate between the lines. He\u2019s an average player.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nainggolan: I was better than McTominay & Calhanoglu<\/h2>\n

The Belgian did not stop there, comparing himself to a range of midfielders past and present. \u201cAt my peak I was better than him and Hakan \u00c7alhano\u011flu, but I put Nicol\u00f2 Barella above myself. He doesn\u2019t always score many goals, but when he does they are important, and you can always feel the difference when he plays.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI really like Kevin De Bruyne, he sees things others don\u2019t. I\u2019d put him above me. And if you mention Luka Modri\u0107\u2026 he has always been one of the best in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nainggolan also reflected on Serie A, insisting Inter\u2019s title win came as no surprise.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you asked me at the start of the season, I would always have said Inter. They have the strongest squad and play the best football. Napoli and Milan got close, but they don\u2019t have the same consistency.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Roma, he added: \u201cIt\u2019s difficult to judge them, they are inconsistent. I don\u2019t like the style of play, and with a player like Dybala you expect more games. Roma should never be outside the top four.\u201d<\/p>\n
