Teen Mom <\/em>alum Jenelle Evans<\/strong> appears to be working hard to put her past troubles with her son Jace<\/strong> behind them.<\/p>\n

Posting via Instagram on Friday, May 1, Evans, 34, shared a carousel of photos and videos that showed her with Jace, 16, as they spent quality time together at a \u201cparents weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evans shared a selfie of the mother-son duo together as well as snippets from a kayaking adventure they embarked on together.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherapy and kayaking with my best friend. Both working on ourselves at the same time \ud83d\udc93\ud83e\udd79 #ParentsWeekend #MentalHealthAwareness,\u201d the reality TV star captioned the post.<\/p>\n

Evans \u2014 who shares Jace with ex Andrew Lewis<\/strong>, Kaiser, 11, with ex Nathan Griffith,<\/strong> and Ensley, 9, with David Eason<\/strong> \u2014 also shared drawings from the weekend via her social media, which appeared to be parenting exercises.<\/p>\n

One piece of paper read \u201cemotional hijack\u201d and included practical steps to take such as \u201cDo things they enjoy. Respect their feelings\u201d\u00a0 and \u201cBuild the relationship.\u201d Evans captioned the post, \u201c#Parenting101.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evans\u2019 followers voiced their support for the family update in the comments section.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrecious, but make sure Jake is on board with you postings\ud83d\ude09\ud83e\udd14 Hope All is well with you both\ud83e\udef6\ud83e\udef6,\u201d one wrote, while another added, \u201cGood job momma. \u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, another follower wrote, \u201cHe looks good. Am glad he is doing well. So proud of him.\u201d<\/p>\n

In March, news broke that Jenelle\u2019s mother, Barbara Evans, filed for emergency custody of Jace after the teen allegedly pulled a gun on his relatives in February. (Jace was living with Barbara in North Carolina at the time, while Jenelle is based in Las Vegas with her younger two children.)<\/p>\n

Barbara\u2019s motion was denied but Lewis started a GoFundMe page to raise money for \u201cmedical and legal\u201d expenses for his son, which Evans later slammed as a \u201cscam.\u201d<\/p>\n
