Finally, our prayers have been answered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">She continued, \u201cThe thing is, sometimes we don\u2019t want to hear that answer to our prayers. And so, while I was waiting to have lung surgery for the masses on my lung, the doctors at Mayo [Clinic] finally found what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Brooks\u2019 physicians subsequently diagnosed her with \u201cterminal ALS,\u201d a neurodegenerative disorder that causes individuals to gradually lose control of their muscles. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also called Lou Gehrig\u2019s disease, is a terminal neurodegenerative disorder. The disease causes the individual to gradually lose control of their muscles, beginning gradually with muscle stiffness or [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThere is not a lot of research behind ALS, and we don\u2019t know how long I have,\u201d the pro wrestler explained. \u201cIt explains why I have trouble walking and talking [and] all my functions will soon decline. But now, we can prepare for the future and what is to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Brooks, known as Rebel on AEW, joined the organization in 2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI want to say thank you to [AEW founder] <b>Tony Khan<\/b> and AEW for supporting me on this medical journey,\u201d she added, holding back tears. \u201cIt has been a blessing that is unheard of and, from the bottom of my heart, thank you and thank you to all of you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for a peaceful journey and a peaceful passing. If there is a best case scenario, then I have it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Breaking down in tears, she added, \u201cTomorrow, I start rehab because along this journey, I picked up a little disorder called functional neurological disorder and it has taken my ability to walk. I now walk with a walker, and [it has affected] my ability to speak.
