The Hills<\/em> star Audrina Patridge<\/strong> honestly hopes her former costar Spencer Pratt<\/strong> becomes the next mayor of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m actually excited,\u201d Partridge, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Friday, May 1, while attending Calamigos Ranch Resort & Spa\u2019s Leading Hotels of the World accreditation celebration. \u201cHe impressed me. I listened to some of his interviews, and at first when I heard, I was like, \u2018Wait, is he really doing it? Is it a joke? Is it real?\u2019 But he is, and he is very intelligent, and I think that he would make a lot of change to L.A. and he would follow through with what he said.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cSo I\u2019m rooting for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a resident of Orange County, Partridge is unable to vote in the upcoming mayoral election. Still, she hopes her former reality TV castmate can \u201cbring back\u201d the Los Angeles she remembers from 15 years ago.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJenna Bush Hager couldn\u2019t help but ask Lauren Conrad, Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari their thoughts on Spencer Pratt running to become the mayor of Los Angeles. While Conrad and Colletti, both 40, dodged the question by explaining that they live in Orange County and aren\u2019t eligible to vote in L.A., Cavallari, 39, offered an [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s very smart. He knew how to work reality TV. I know politics is very different \u2014 but I mean, he seems very intelligent and is well educated on what he needs to do,\u201d she said. \u201cBring back L.A., what it was 15 years ago when it was fun to go out. It\u2019s so different now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pratt, 42, announced his mayoral campaign on January 7 \u2014 one year after the devastating L.A. wildfires destroyed his and wife Heidi Montag\u2019<\/strong>s home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe system in Los Angeles isn\u2019t struggling, it\u2019s fundamentally broken,\u201d the former reality TV star said while speaking at the \u201cThey Let Us Burn\u201d public demonstration. \u201cIt is a machine designed to protect the people at the top and the friends they exchange favors with while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash. Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I\u2019m done waiting for someone to take real action.\u201d<\/p>\n

The controversial candidate is among 13 challengers trying to unseat incumbent Karen Bass<\/strong>. If successful, Pratt will join a growing list of reality TV stars-turned-politicians, including Real World<\/em>\u2019s Sean Duffy<\/strong>, now the secretary of transportation, and Celebrity Apprentice<\/em>\u2019s Donald Trump<\/strong>, currently the president of the United States.<\/p>\n

Like Trump, 79, Pratt\u2019s campaign is already causing controversy after he released an ad filmed outside the homes of two of his opponents \u2014 Bass and Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Raman condemned Pratt for filming outside her house, calling it an \u201cunnecessary and reckless\u201d political stunt, while Mayor Bass accused her rival of doing his \u201cbest Trump impression.\u201d<\/p>\n

The controversy only seemed to help Pratt, who received an infusion of campaign cash from former Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss<\/strong>, a bump in poll numbers and an increase in celebrity endorsements. Political commentator and former The View<\/em> cohost Meghan McCain<\/strong> has predicted Pratt will win the mayoral race.<\/p>\n

Pratt\u2019s sister Stephanie Pratt<\/strong>, however, has condemned her brother\u2019s political ambitions, calling him \u201cunqualified\u201d and \u201cinexperienced.\u201d<\/p>\n
