\n\tAfter Blondie\u2019s Debbie Harry introduced Olivia Rodrigo\u2018s first Saturday Night Live<\/em> performance of the night, Connor Storrie also appeared in a surprise cameo to intro the artist\u2019s second track \u2014 an unreleased one \u2014 during her double duty stint.<\/p>\n \n\tRodrigo seemed to perform a new song off of her upcoming album you\u00a0seem\u00a0pretty\u00a0sad for a\u00a0girl\u00a0so in\u00a0love,<\/em>\u00a0which will drop\u00a0June 12. Compared to the uproarious and scathing \u201cdrop dead,\u201d the latest single was stripped down and more somber in tone.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI could never leave \/ so I\u2019m patiently learning \/ pretend it\u2019s not hurting,\u201d the singer-songwriter crooned. Other lyrics included: \u201c\u2018Cause they say it\u2019s a virtue \/ to not let good love slip away.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe Heated Rivalry<\/em> star was just at Studio 8H in Rodrigo\u2019s shoes earlier this year, for his inaugural hosting stint back in late February. His show also included cameos galore: the U.S. women\u2019s and men\u2019s Olympic hockey champs, as well as his co-star Hudson Williams.<\/p>\n \n\tThough Rodrigo has been a musical guest twice prior, tonight marked her first time leading the Lorne Michaels-created sketch show. (She previously featured as a musical guest on the late-nighter in 2021, opposite host Keegan-Michael Key, and 2023, alongside host Adam Driver.)<\/p>\n \n\tBut Storrie wasn\u2019t the only surprise guest tonight. As mentioned, Harry previewed the three-time Grammy winner\u2019s first track. Additionally, Aziz Ansari appeared in the Cold Open as FBI director Kash Patel. <\/p>\n \n\tIn the lead-up to her third studio album, Rodrigo released lead single \u201cdrop dead\u201d alongside a stunning accompanying music video \u2014 dreamily directed by Petra Collins at the Louvre \u2014\u00a0two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
