His co-star, <strong>Jon Voight<\/strong>, was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his turn as broadcaster <strong>Howard Cosell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ali<\/em> doesn\u2019t capture the entirety of the iconic boxer\u2019s life, but it\u2019s a snapshot of the most important decade in his development. The film chronicles his embrace of Islam and the rejection of his birth name, Cassius Clay Jr. More importantly, it dramatizes Ali\u2019s fall from the top of the boxing world after refusing to be drafted, before chronicling his comeback up to and including the famous Rumble in the Jungle battle with <strong>George Foreman<\/strong> (<strong>Charles Shufford<\/strong>) for the World Championship. Smith\u2019s wife, <strong>Jada Pinkett Smith<\/strong>, even has a supporting role as Ali\u2019s first wife, <strong>Sonji Roi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ali<\/em> is available for rent or purchase on Prime Video.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018John Carter\u2019 (2012)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"JOHN CARTER | Trailer 2012 -- Official Movie Trailer | Official Disney UK\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6Rf55GTEZ_E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Disney had franchise-sized hopes for <em>John Carter<\/em>, since the film was based on <em>A Princess of Mars<\/em> by Tarzan creator <strong>Edgar Rice Burroughs<\/strong>. That novel was a seminal work of science fiction that influenced<em> Star Wars<\/em>, <em>Flash Gordon<\/em> and countless others that followed. This isn\u2019t a horror flick or a straight-forward coming-of-age [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Stanton had at least two sequels in mind before <em>John Carter<\/em>\u2018s future was dashed by much lower-than-expected box office returns. The film should have had a much warmer response because <strong>Taylor Kitsch<\/strong> is engaging as John Carter, a former Confederate officer who finds himself mysteriously transported to Mars. Rather than finding a dead world, John discovers that several races are vying for dominance on the planet they call Barsoom. But John is particularly drawn to a princess, Dejah Thoris (<strong>Lynn Collins<\/strong>), and her desire to bring peace to her people.<\/p>\n<p><em>John Carter<\/em> is streaming on Disney+.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Tomorrowland\u2019 (2015)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tomorrowland (2015) Official Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fgTNZO7WWIY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Much like Stanton, <strong>Brad Bird<\/strong> earned his reputation at Pixar with blockbuster animated hits like <em>The Incredibles<\/em> and <em>Ratatouille<\/em>. So when the time came to turn Disneyland\u2019s Tomorrowland into a feature film, Bird was given the chance to expand the mythology behind it and create a new franchise.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tomorrowland<\/em> cast <strong>George Clooney<\/strong> in the lead as Frank Walker, an inventor who was recruited to join the brilliant minds of his era in another dimension that mirrors our own. In the present, Frank lives in seclusion after being banished from Tomorrowland. Casey Newton (<strong>Britt Robertson<\/strong>) seeks out Frank as she tries to find her own way into Tomorrowland so they can save the world together. The film\u2019s optimistic message is inspiring, but there just weren\u2019t enough people coming to theaters in support of it. Director <strong>Ridley Scott\u00a0<\/strong>adapted <strong>Eric Jager<\/strong>\u2018s historical novel about a real duel that took place in the 14th century between two former friends, <strong>Sir Jean de Carrouges<\/strong> (<strong>Matt Damon<\/strong>) and <strong>Jacques le Gris<\/strong> (<strong>Adam Driver<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jodie Comer<\/strong> costars as <strong>Marguerite de Carrouges<\/strong>, Jean\u2019s wife and the object of Jacques\u2019 affections. She\u2019s the one who accuses Jacques of sexually assaulting her, and the film is somewhat evasive about the truth of the matter. Events take place from the perspective of Jean, Jacques and Marguerite, and they all have very different takes on what happened.
