Tanea Brooks<\/b><\/span> <\/b>was touched that she was honored during the Saturday, May 2, broadcast of AEW Collision.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to my @aew family and [founder] @tonyrkhan and thank you to the fans for the signs,\u201d Brooks, 47, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 3. \u201cThey truly lift my spirits.\u201d<\/p>\n

Announcer Tony Schiavone <\/b>paid tribute to Brooks, who wrestled under her \u201cRebel\u201d stage name, on Saturday\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou probably know by social media that one of our fine athletes has some very serious health problems,\u201d Schiavone, 68, said during the show. \u201cWe want [Tanea] to know you are a big part of AEW and we are thinking about you right now and we are praying for you, that you will pull through.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAEW star Tanea Brooks has been diagnosed with ALS. \u201cOK, there\u2019s an update and hold on because there is a plot twist,\u201d Brooks, 47, said in a Friday, May 1, Instagram video. \u201cFirst, I want to say thank you for all of your prayers because, for those who know, it\u2019s been a two-year medical journey [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He continued, \u201cRebel, we hope you\u2019ll get better. Pray for Rebel. My dear, we\u2019re thinking about you. She\u2019s a wonderful young lady.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schiavone also noted that there were \u201ca lot of signs,\u201d created by fans in the crowd, supporting Brooks that could be seen throughout the venue.<\/p>\n

One day earlier, Brooks confirmed that she was diagnosed with \u201cterminal ALS.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, our prayers have been answered. The thing is, sometimes we don\u2019t want to hear that answer to our prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n

While awaiting lung surgery, Brooks\u2019 doctors discovered that the pro wrestler suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disorder that causes individuals to gradually lose control of their muscles. The disease is also known as Lou Gehrig\u2019s disease, and there is currently no known cure.<\/p>\n
