Melissa Rivers<\/strong> has officially declared the \u201cnipple\u201d as the top fashion accessory at the 2026 Met Gala.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The] best accessory is the nipple because there were countless. The nipple was the accessory,\u201d Rivers, 58, declared exclusively to Us Weekly<\/em> on Monday, May 4.<\/p>\n

The \u201cMelissa Rivers\u2019 Group Text\u201d host touched on whether the Kardashian-Jenner family fit in with the trend of naked dresses, after Kendall Jenner<\/strong>, Kylie Jenner<\/strong>, Kim Kardashian<\/strong>\u00a0and Kris Jenner<\/strong> all turned heads on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. (The 2026 Met Gala theme was \u201cCostume Art\u201d and guests were encouraged to follow a \u201cFashion Is Art\u201d dress code.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we\u2019re trying to figure out on our end, which we have not had time to do a deep dive on yet, is we\u2019re trying to figure out if Kendall and Kylie, if those were the actual skin things that they make with the nipple [on their outfits],\u201d Rivers noted.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively with Us<\/em>, the longtime Fashion Police<\/em> cohost said that each Kardashian-Jenner family member \u201cunderstood\u201d this year\u2019s theme before singling out \u201cKylie in the Schiaparelli\u201d as the best look. (The Custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown consisted of a nude top that blended into a white gown draping off Kylie\u2019s body.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is exactly what it was supposed to be about the art of dressing and the art of fashion and the body,\u201d Rivers said of Kylie\u2019s look. \u201cIt was spectacular.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rivers noted that Kendall \u201clooked beyond in Zac Posen\u201d as she ranked the whole family from best to worst.<\/p>\n

\u201cKylie for top, then Kendall, Kris, Kim,\u201d she told Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Met Gala red carpet was jam-packed with distinctive and, at times, shocking fashion choices from some of the world\u2019s biggest stars, including Heidi Klum<\/strong>, who was virtually disguised as a Veiled Lady statue, and Bad Bunny<\/strong>, who looked\u00a0completely unrecognizable in old-age makeup.<\/p>\n

As for some of the night\u2019s most prevalent trends, Rivers told Us<\/em>, \u201cLots of mermaid hair, a lot of red, a lot of white. My overall feeling was it was very pretty. But we did have splashes of what you expect from the Met Gala, which is over-the-top.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the theme [of \u2018Costume Art\u2019] was hard in a way, because it leaned into all the pretty Grecian and draping but that\u2019s why I think it came out pretty, but of course we had some standouts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rivers singled out Gabrielle Union<\/strong> and Dwyane Wade<\/strong> on her list of the \u201cbest dressed\u201d celebrities at the 2026 Met Gala, along with Beyonc\u00e9 Knowles-Carter<\/strong> and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter<\/strong>, Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong> and Anne Hathaway<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n
