Last week\u2019s most impressive Broadway box office number was scored by none other than the two-year-old <em>Oh, Mary!,<\/em> freshened up for the spring with the arrival of new star Maya Rudolph. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn her Broadway debut, Rudolph, as the title character, boosted the weekly gross of <em><strong>Oh, Mary!<\/strong><\/em> to <strong>$1,540,980<\/strong>, a record for both the production and the Lyceum Theatre. The single-performance take for Friday, May 1, was <strong>$199,935,<\/strong> another house record.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Cole Escola comedy was one of six productions (out of 40) to sell out the week ending May 3. Others included <em><strong>Chicago<\/strong><\/em>, with <em>Mormon Wives<\/em> star Whitney Leavitt in her final week as the musical\u2019s star pushing the gross to <strong>$1,688,129<\/strong>; <em><strong>Every Brilliant Thing<\/strong><\/em>, with newly Tony-nominated star Daniel Radcliffe counting down to his May 24 exit (<strong>$1,718,476<\/strong>); <em><strong>Harry Potter and the Cursed Child<\/strong><\/em>, still soaring with big draw Tom Felton and the roster\u2019s top earner at <strong>$2,290,728<\/strong>; <em><strong>Ragtime<\/strong><\/em>, another new Tony nominee (<strong>$1,118,485<\/strong>); and Tony nominee <strong><em>The Rocky Horror Show<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$830,253<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAmong the spring\u2019s new musicals,<em><strong> The Lost Boys<\/strong><\/em> was the top earner at <strong>$1,003,881<\/strong> (with four heavily comped performances and attendance at 85% of the Palace\u2019s capacity). <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOther recent arrivals reporting strong or promising numbers were <strong><em>Cats: The Jellicle Ball <\/em><\/strong>(<strong>$935,627<\/strong>,  94%); <em><strong>Joe Turner\u2019s Come and Gone<\/strong><\/em> (<strong>$942,474<\/strong>, 90%); <strong><em>Death of a Salesman<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$1,463,786,<\/strong> 88%); <strong><em>Fallen Angels <\/em><\/strong>(<strong>$644,611<\/strong>, 97%); <strong><em>Becky Shaw<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$462,643<\/strong>, 90%); <strong><em>Giant<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$1,149,162<\/strong> for 7 performances, 96%); and <strong><em>Proof<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$911,572<\/strong>, 96%). <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn the 70%-80% of capacity range \u2013 some Tony noms might help boost numbers for next week\u2019s chart \u2013 were <strong><em>Schmigadoon!<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$646,129<\/strong>, 75%); <strong><em>Titanique<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$730,431<\/strong>, 79%); <strong><em>The Balusters<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$295,799<\/strong>, 79%); <strong><em>Chess<\/em><\/strong> (<strong>$972,106<\/strong>, 75%); and <strong><em>The Fear of 13<\/em><\/strong>, at 80% of capacity and showing a troubling drop of $65,569 from the previous week, landing at <strong>$717,935<\/strong>. Today\u2019s major-category Tony snub for the Adrien Brody-starring play could smart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOn the other hand, eight nominations, including Best Musical and leading musical actor\/actress, could give a much-needed boost to <em><strong>Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)<\/strong><\/em>, which last week filled just 69% of seats at the Longacre for a gross of <strong>$506,589<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNo such hope for <strong><em>Beaches<\/em><\/strong>, snubbed entirely by Tony nominators this morning. Last week more than half of the seats at the Majestic went unoccupied (48% were filled) for a gross of <strong>$520,119<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSome of the non-newcomers showed some significant declines last week, including <strong><em>Death Becomes Here<\/em><\/strong> (down $221,878); <em><strong>Stranger Things: The First Shadow<\/strong><\/em> (down $225,120) and <em><strong>Wicked<\/strong><\/em> (down $209,069). The latter, as always, was still among the week\u2019s big earners with a gross of <strong>$1,202,405<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn all, the 40 Broadway productions grossed <strong>$39,259,008<\/strong> for the week ending May 3, a drop of 3% from the previous week and down about 16% from last year at this time when ticket prices when ticket prices for <em>Good Night, And Good Luck, Othello, Glengarry Glen Ross <\/em>and<em> The Picture of Dorian Gray<\/em> soared. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTotal attendance last week was <strong>321,960<\/strong>, down 4% from the previous week and 7% year-to-year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn the 49th week of the 2025-26 season, Broadway had grossed<strong>\u00a0$1,793,556,665<\/strong>, up about 5% over last year at this time, with total attendance of\u00a0<strong>13,603,156<\/strong> up 2%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAll figures courtesy of The Broadway League.
