Will Trent<\/em> concluded its fourth season with another shocking death after the show already lost a cast member.<\/p>\n

During the Tuesday, May 5, episode of the hit ABC series, Angie (Erika Christensen<\/strong>) finally gave birth but her happiness was short-lived because her husband, Seth (Scott Foley<\/strong>), died after collapsing in the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just Game of Thrones<\/em> out here,\u201d Iantha Richardson<\/strong>, who plays Faith, joked during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cI have no clue if death is imminent on this show [but] I hope not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richardson, 35, recalled the reasoning she heard about Seth\u2019s death, adding, \u201cIt sets up a beautiful emotional arc for people in the coming season of what\u2019s to come. So there\u2019s a lot to look forward to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the potential onscreen growth, Richardson acknowledged how \u201chard\u201d it is to see cast members leave the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cLosing people like that definitely keeps you on your toes. Nobody expected to lose one person \u2014 let alone two \u2014 in very different genres of what the show has. But to lose two in a matter of three weeks is just gut wrenching over and over again,\u201d she noted. \u201cWhat is expected is a lot of emotional roller-coasters. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s death necessarily but I hope not. I do know that there is a lot of emotional recoil that will come in the season to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on a book by Karin Slaughter<\/strong>, Will Trent<\/em> follows a special agent at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who was abandoned at birth and grew up in Atlanta\u2019s overwhelmed foster care system. Will (Ramon Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>) now relies on his unique perspective while pursuing justice, resulting in the highest clearance rate in the GBI.<\/p>\n

In addition to Rodr\u00edguez, the show stars Richardson, Christensen, Jake McLaughlin, Sonja Sohn<\/strong> and Kevin Daniels<\/strong>. Season 4 threw viewers for a loop when Sohn\u2019s character, Amanda, was killed off after being on the show since the beginning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am never too comfortable in any space because you really just never know. But I don\u2019t think [a possible death for Faith] is at the forefront of my mind,\u201d Richardson told Us<\/em> about her personal reaction to multiple cast exits within a matter of weeks. \u201cI don\u2019t think that would happen. But who knows. If it\u2019s meant for the greater good of Will Trent then I\u2019m sure there will be a great reason behind it and it\u2019ll all happen in the best way. But I hope not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Richardson expressed excitement at the story possibilities in season 5. She specifically weighed in on how Will and Angie raising her baby \u2014 while living together again \u2014 will play out for the rest of the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think it feels communal again. We don\u2019t know next season exactly what\u2019s going to happen but we\u2019re functioning on a family-like level. This baby lost its father and although Will and Angie are figuring out their stuff, you always need other hands,\u201d the actress said. \u201cI would hope that Faith would step in and be like, \u2018Give me the baby.\u2019 We\u2019re going to figure it out all together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richardson also teased how the show will return back to basics, saying, \u201cI\u2019m really excited about the sex trafficking case. I think that is very timely and nuanced. It is something that needs to be highlighted because I don\u2019t think a lot of people know \u2014 as much as it\u2019s talked about \u2014 the ins and outs of it. There\u2019s something there to really discuss.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cTo have my character have something [to] chew on in that nature, I am so excited. Especially as a Black woman, the majority of these cases are from little Black girls from what I\u2019m learning. \u2026 If we get in the midst of it, we could find somebody for Faith to pair with and that would be awesome as well. I would love to see that because she needs a successful love story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of love stories, Richardson spoke with Us about the surprising \u2014 and overwhelming \u2014 support for Faith and Ormewood (McLaughlin).<\/p>\n

\u201cI was super surprised because there\u2019s a nuance in there that I really enjoy. There is such thing as a platonic love with somebody who is completely different from you,\u201d she explained about her hope for the duo. \u201cYour soul gravitates to the opposite of what mine does but you\u2019re a great human. I don\u2019t know if this would work romantically and I think she\u2019s aware enough \u2014 given her circumstances \u2014 to know that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richardson wondered if viewers can find it \u201chard to differentiate\u201d platonic potential and romantic love.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so many different types of friendships and relationships and love that we have in this life. I love the fact that this is a part of her journey,\u201d she added. \u201cI think it should be platonic. That\u2019s just a nuance that deserves to be had with her relationships at work.\u201d<\/p>\n
