\n\tEXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> Epicentre Films\u00a0has acquired French rights to Mexican director Bruno Santamar\u00eda Razo\u2019s Six months in a Pink and Blue Building ahead of its world premiere in Cannes Critics\u2019 Week.<\/p>\n \n\tThe deal was secured by Paris-based Luxbox which is handling international sales.<\/p>\n \n\tSet in Mexico City in the early 90s, the film follows the young protagonist Bruno.<\/p>\n \n\tAs he turns 11, his growing feelings for his best friend Vladimir clash with the sudden announcement that his father has HIV. Like in salsa songs, his family tries to sing and dance their\u00a0pain away. Thirty years later, Bruno films and reimagine the memory of what he could not quite perceive as a child.<\/p>\n \n\tThe film, which is Santamar\u00eda Razo\u2019s features directorial debut, won four awards at Films In Progress Cin\u00e9latino Toulouse before being selected to compete at Cannes Critics\u2019 Week.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe immediately felt this was a natural\u00a0fit for \u00c9picentre Films,\u201d said Corentin S\u00e9n\u00e9chal, Director of Distribution at Epicentre Films, describing the work as \u201ca\u00a0film of great sensitivity and precision, where childhood is rediscovered through the lens of adulthood.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe company\u2019s slate includes recent distribution slate includes Ungrateful Beings<\/em> by Olmo Omerzu, Justa<\/em> by Teresa Villaverde and Tereza Nvotov\u00e1\u2019s upcoming drama Father<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tSix Months In A Pink & Blue Building<\/em> is produced by Mexico\u2019s Ojo de Vaca Productora (Mexico) in <\/strong>coproduction with\u00a0<\/strong>Desvia Films (Brazil) and Snowglobe (Denmark).<\/p>\n \n\tEpicentre first connected with the film when it was presented as a work in progress at Cinelatino Toulouse.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cTheir enthusiasm and expertise in queer cinema, as well as their experience distributing Latin American films\u2014such as recently\u00a0A Poet<\/em>\u2014make them a perfect match for a film like\u00a0Six Months in a Pink and Blue Building<\/em>,\u201d said Santamaria Razo. <\/p>\n \n\tEpicentre has set a September 1 release. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
