Musk \u200cwon&#8217;t have to \u2060give up any money he allegedly saved from the delay.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->The settlement \u2060was disclosed on Monday in the Washington, D.C., federal court.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->In its January 2025 lawsuit, the \u200bSEC said \u200bMusk&#8217;s 11-day delay \u200bin revealing his initial \u200c5% Twitter stake in late March and early April 2022 let him buy more than $500 million of shares at artificially low prices.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->The SEC had argued that Musk \u200cshould pay a civil \u200bfine and repay the $150 million \u200bhe allegedly \u200bsaved at the expense of \u200cunsuspecting investors.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->Musk called the delay \u200binadvertent, and \u200baccused the SEC of violating his free speech rights by targeting him.
