Uncovered documents from Blake Lively<\/strong> and Justin Baldoni<\/strong>\u2019s settlement reportedly showed that companies were \u201cspooked\u201d to work with the actress amid the pair\u2019s It Ends With Us<\/em> legal battle.<\/p>\n

Legal documents obtained by Us Weekly on Tuesday, May 5, showed emails and texts sent by Lively\u2019s alcohol company, Betty Booze, that detailed how companies were reluctant to partner with Lively, 38, amid her and Baldoni\u2019s dispute following the film\u2019s December 2024 release. (TMZ was first to report the news.)<\/p>\n

In a September 10, 2024, internal email between Betty Booze staff members that reflected on an alleged conversation with a representative from Kroger, who stocks the product line in-store. The correspondence read, \u201cI just got off the phone with the SGWS Kroger VP, and the first thing he mentioned to me was that Betty Booze was just discussed \u2026 there is a negative taste in Kroger\u2019s mouth based on the [Blake Lively] interview from the movie, and they said they will be closely monitoring sales on the brand.\u201d (The email did not specify which interview of Lively\u2019s it was referring to.)<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to representatives for both Lively and Baldoni for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJustin Baldoni and Blake Lively\u2019s attorneys are attempting to hash out key pretrial issues, including possible damages caused by the It Ends With Us legal drama. During a Tuesday, April 28, pretrial conference in New York City, Lively\u2019s lawyers argued that the actress missed out on the opportunity to make up to $35 million for [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The documents were uncovered as part of Lively\u2019s planned \u201cevidence\u201d against Baldoni, who she accused in December 2024 of purposefully creating a smear campaign targeting against her in addition to sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment when the pair worked together on It Ends With Us<\/em>. (Baldoni, 42, strongly denied all allegations throughout the legal battle and filed a failed countersuit against Lively. The two parties confirmed via a joint statement on Monday, May 4, that Lively\u2019s filing had been settled prior to trial.)<\/p>\n

The outlet further quoted the internal email, stating that the supermarket chain was \u201cexpecting a negative sales impact, and they\u2019re wondering what [Lively] will be doing to course correct and make things right with her audience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAmong the many claims in his $400 million lawsuit, Justin Baldoni went after the allegedly \u201charmful and irresponsible\u201d way that Blake Lively promoted It Ends With Us. In court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Baldoni 40, claimed that Lively, 37, named a drink at the premiere afterparty \u201cRyle Can Wait.\u201d (Baldoni played Ryle in the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a text sent by \u201cthe VP of Food & Beverage\u201d at Princess Cruises, another Betty Booze stockist, further concern was allegedly expressed. \u201cBy the way our legal ethics and compliance committee board spooked with Blake !!! I am working things out hopefully will not have any affect,\u201d the text read.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the legal documents alleged that Betty Booze was \u201cforced to go dark\u201d as a result of Lively\u2019s headlines, which impacted sales. Further documents supported Lively\u2019s claim that \u201coverwhelmingly positive\u201d social media engagement with Betty Booze transitioned into \u201cnegative comments\u201d across Instagram, and Instagram follower growth was allegedly \u201cheld back by negative PR.\u201d<\/p>\n
