Ryan Reynolds is historically someone who smiles a lot with his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Beside him is his wife. Blake is flashing a toothy grin in a makeup-free look, cradling her husband\u2019s head with one arm.<\/p>\n<p>They look beautiful. And who \u2018won\u2019 the settlement?<\/h2>\n<p>We are not body language experts or <em>microexpression <\/em>experts. And, to be blunt, it\u2019s reasonable to feel leery of anyone claiming to be either.<\/p>\n<p>But, at a glance and under inspection, this post appears to signal that Ryan and Blake are <em>happy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe they chose peace on purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps settling the lawsuit was the best option left to them after the judge threw out most of her complaints \u2014 not on a basis of fact, but due to Blake being an \u201cindependent contractor\u201d and thus not protected by Title VII protections.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, they seem happy. It offered a shoutout to Blake, but not to him, while admitting no wrongdoing on anyone\u2019s part.<\/p>\n<p>Some would call this a win for Baldoni \u2014 even though millions of people had never heard of him before this, and this will define him in their minds forever.<\/p>\n<p>(That and what Jenny Slate said about him.)<\/p>\n<p>Others have opined that the real winner might be women in general. We\u2019ve all seen how vile these trials can be, especially as they are litigated by opportunists and agitators on TikTok and beyond.
