The Good Place <\/i>alum Jameela Jamil<\/strong> is explaining her recently unsealed text messages.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am ready to say some things, mostly to clarify timing \u2018cause timing is key for context,
\u00a0<\/span>Jamil, 39, said in a Friday, January 23, video shared via TikTok. \u201cI think it\u2019s really weird that my private text messages from 18 months ago have suddenly been released now.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cMy name has deliberately been unredacted to cause as much trouble as possible for me even though these text messages have nothing to do with the case.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly <\/i>confirmed earlier this month that texts between Jamil and Jennifer Abel<\/strong>, Justin Baldoni<\/strong>\u2019s publicist, were released amid the It Ends With Us <\/i>director\u2019s legal battle with Blake Lively<\/strong>. (Lively, 38, accused Baldoni, 41, of harassment and trying to destroy her reputation on the set of 2024\u2019s It Ends With Us. <\/i>He vehemently denied the allegations.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to officially incorporate nightmare c*** and demon c*** into my vocabulary; UNBELIEVABLE; She\u2019s doing this to herself,\u2019\u201d Abel allegedly wrote about Lively to Jamil in texts obtained by Us.<\/i><\/p>\n

Jamil, for her part, replied, \u201cShe\u2019s a suicide bomber at this point.\u201d She later accused Lively of putting on a \u201cbizarre villain\u201d act in a separate message.<\/p>\n

In her Friday video, Jamil stressed that she didn\u2019t \u201ctalk about the case\u201d in any of her text messages.<\/p>\n

\u201cCheck the dates. They were [sent in] August 2024. The lawsuit wasn\u2019t filed until December 2024. There were four months between when I was saying those things and a lawsuit coming to light,\u201d the People We Meet on Vacation <\/i>actress stated, adding that she\u2019s not familiar with the legalities of the lawsuit. \u201cI had no idea about any of this stuff, so I was just purely venting to my friend about how I felt about the press rollout for that f***ing terrible movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Jamil, she \u201cdidn\u2019t like how the press was being handled\u201d given the movie\u2019s themes of domestic violence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up with domestic violence in my home, I was a victim of domestic violence in my 20s [and it] made me feel some type of way,\u201d Jamil said, referring to the It Ends With Us <\/i>promotional tour. \u201cThe way that the interviews were set up for the success of making a really beautiful bonding interview and was met with callous or sarcastic or cold or diluted answers. It offended me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI took it to the group chat, talked about it with my friend who happens to be being treated very badly by some very powerful wealthy celebrities, some of whom are involved,\u201d Jamil alleged on Friday. \u201cI don\u2019t know about you, but when it\u2019s my girlfriend being upset by anyone, I don\u2019t care what\u2019s going on or who did what. \u2026 I see red, I am 10 toes down, balls to the f***ing wall. I will ride dawn for my girlfriends and they will do the same for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamil further stressed that her texts are usually meant for their friend group to \u201cbitch and gossip and affirm\u201d each other.<\/p>\n
