Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr.<\/strong> clapped back at ex-girlfriend Madison Pettis<\/strong> after she called him a \u201cpsychopath\u201d during a March podcast appearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was crazy,\u201d Porter, 27, said on the Monday, May 4 episode of the \u201cOne Night with Steiny<\/strong>\u201d podcast, appearing alongside influencer Celina Powell<\/strong>. \u201cI wasn\u2019t feeling that at all because, bro, we dated for what, three months, and nothing happened. Crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Porter and Pettis, 27, dated briefly when both were teenagers. Porter was a McDonald\u2019s All-American while Pettis was starring in the Disney Channel\u2019s Cory in the House<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know why 10 years later she\u2019s getting on a podcast talking about, \u2018He\u2019s a psychopath,\u2019\u201d Porter continued. \u201cShe\u2019s scaring all the jawns away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, my ex is now in the NBA. When we dated, he was in high school and college. I broke up with him before he was in the league because he was a psychopath,\u201d Pettis said. \u201cI do think a lot of athletes are not great partners, but I wouldn\u2019t rule it out because I do love what they do. I would have respect for them and love to talk to them about their passion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Porter, for his part, also explained how he and Pettis met, crediting Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe and her met because Stephen Curry, it was my birthday, and I was at his camp,\u201d he explained. \u201cHe posted a selfie saying, happy birthday, Mike. Gave me a shoutout on Instagram. I got tons of followers from Stephen Curry. This was back when Instagram first started. I think she saw that and DM\u2019d me saying, happy birthday. I didn\u2019t see it for a while because I was getting a lot of DMs. \u201cThen I came across her page, looked at my DMs, and she had messaged me. So we started DMing and talking.\u201d<\/p>\n
