The White Lotus<\/em> experienced some significant recasting over the years \u2014 but which actors were replaced and why?<\/p>\n

The HBO series, which debuted in 2021, focuses on the guests and employees at a fictional resort as they experience a slew of personal ups and downs while on vacation. The anthology series is also known for a mysterious death \u2014 or two \u2014 that is teased during the first episode and eventually revealed at the end of each season.<\/p>\n

After exploring Hawaii and Sicily, season 3 was set in Thailand with the show\u2019s usual star-studded cast. This time around the show brought in Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong <\/strong>and Aimee Lou Wood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, some fans might be surprised to know that certain key roles were ultimately given to other actors. Once production started in February 2024, characters including Chloe and Frank went through some changes \u2014 starting with the person playing them.<\/p>\n

Milo\u0161 Bikovi\u0107<\/strong> was announced with the first wave of castings in January 2024. HBO dropped him one month later after Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called out the network for casting Bikovi\u0107 despite his support of Russia amid the country\u2019s war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Days later, Julian Kostov<\/strong> was announced as Bikovi\u0107\u2019s replacement. Bikovi\u0107 subsequently slammed the decision in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, a targeted campaign has been unleashed against me, seemingly as an external maneuver to influence decisions that can create a disturbing precedent shadowing the essence of artistic freedom,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cThe result of such a narrative is the triumph of absurdity and the defeat of art.\u201d<\/p>\n

Francesca Corney<\/strong> was originally cast as Chloe a.k.a the woman who fortunately \u2014 or unfortunately \u2014 ended up in the middle of that awkward Ratliff incest threesome. One month after production started, however, Charlotte Le Bon<\/strong> was brought in to replace Corney. Deadline<\/em> reported at the time that the decision was made because creator Mike White<\/strong> and his team had wanted someone older to play the part.<\/p>\n

Corney addressed the news in March 2024, writing via Instagram that while it was \u201cheartbreaking\u201d to step away, she was \u201cso incredibly grateful for the short time I got to spend with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have so, so much love for this cast and crew,\u201d she added. \u201cSeason 3 is gonna be goood. I\u2019ll be watching and supporting the whole way.\u201d<\/p>\n
