Trump Demands Again That ABC Fire Jimmy Kimmel: “It Better Be Soon”

Among the busy and burdensome affairs of state on Donald Trump’s desk this morning, growing the number of unemployed in America is a clearly a priority.

Displaying his mastery of details, POTUS specifically wants to see those without jobs in our nation bop up by at least one

Once again, the former Apprentice host is demanding that Disney fire Jimmy Kimmel.

This is the latest rant in a string of fulminations against the ABC late night host over the past few days since Kimmel mocked the relationship between the First Lady and POTUS late last week.

After a series of posts lashing out at newly re-indicted former FBI Director James Comey and the Chancellor of Germany, as well as praising an upcoming biography of the late Elizabeth II, plus numerous odd reposts, Trump went after his long time network nemesis. “When is ABC Fake News Network firing seriously unfunny Jimmy Kimmel, who incompetently presides over one of the Lowest Rated shows on Television?” Trump posted on his Truth Social early Thursday.  “People are angry. It better be soon!!! President DJT”

Now under sudden and clearly politically motivated and primarily performative license renewal review by the Brendan Carr-led Federal Communications Commission after earlier hissy fits by the thin skinned Trumps, ABC had no comment this AM on POTUS’ post.

Kimmel earned the ire of Melania Trump and later POTUS himself earlier this week for an April 23 mock White House Correspondents Dinner roast – one that air days before the shooting that shut down this year’s WHCD.  In the skit, the host referred to the former model as “an expectant widow” and once again questioned the true role of deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein in introducing the Trumps back in the 1990s.

As the FCC conduct an Open Commission meeting Thursday, where the ABC stations review is sure to come up at some point, Kimmel’s barbs against the Trumps on last night’s Live! may have been what set Trump off this morning. Addressing the latest dust-up, Kimmel, who was yanked off the air for a week last fall over remarks about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk that really rubbed MAGA the wrong way, certainly had a bevy of material to work with.

Centering on the Trumps interactions during the visit of the UK’s King Charles III and Queen Camilla to the USA this week, the former Oscar host joked that “Donald and Melania lately have seemed closer than ever, and I like to think I played a part in that.”

Indeed.

FACT CHECK – Trump is correct that people are angry about Jimmy Kimmel. Even among MAGA loyalists like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), there has been wide-spread condemnation of the FCC playing attack dog once again for POTUS over satire.
